Abstract
Działający w połowie XVIII wieku kompozytor Leopold [Leopoldo] Pych [Pich] jest mało znaną postacią. Był dyrygentem kapeli muzycznej klasztoru dominikanów we Lwowie w latach 1765–1774. W wyniku badań udało się odnaleźć kilka utworów tego kompozytora. Przechowywane są obecnie w Archiwum Opactwa Cystersów w Krakowie-Mogile, w Bibliotece Diecezjalnej w Sandomierzu oraz Państwowym Archiwum w Modrej k. Bratysławy (Słowacja). W Archiwum Opactwa Cystersów w Mogile znajdują się dwie kompozycje L. Pycha: Missa solemnis ex D i Vesperae B: V: M:. Podczas badań okazało się, że odpisy tych samych utworów były własnością klasztoru pijarów w Podolińcu (przechowywane obecnie w Państwowym Archiwum w Modrej). Również w Bibliotece Diecezjalnej w Sandomierzu przechowywane są dwie kompozycje L. Pycha, identyczne z zachowanymi w Mogile oraz proweniencji podolinieckiej: Missa ex D oraz Vesperae de Beata V. Mariae. W cyklu mszalnym Missa Solemnin in D L. Pycha są zauważalne zróżnicowania tonalne oraz metryczne. Predylekcją tego kompozytora jest stosowanie odwróconego rytmu punktowanego, tzw. rytmu lombardzkiego. Podział kompozycji na samodzielne odcinki wskazuje wpływ formy kantatowej, a wirtuozowski charakter niektórych fragmentów arii na styl neapolitański. Wiele ustępów o fakturze homofonicznej wskazuje na styl wczesnoklasyczny.
The mid-18th century composer Leopold [Leopoldo] Pych [Pich] is a little-known figure. He was the conductor of the music band of the Dominican monastery in Lviv in the years 1765–1774. As a result of the research, it was possible to find several works by this composer.
They are currently stored in the Archives of the Cistercian Abbey in Kraków-Mogiła (Poland), in the Diocesan Library in Sandomierz (Poland) and in the State Archives in Modra near Bratislava (Slovakia). The Archives of the Cistercian Abbey in Kraków-Mogiła contain two compositions by L. Pych: Missa solemnis ex D and Vesperae B: V: M:. During the research, it turned out that copies of the same works belonged to the Piarist monastery in Podoliniec (currently stored in the State Archive in Modra). Also in the Diocesan Library in Sandomierz, there are two compositions by L. Pych, identical to those preserved in Mogiła and of provenance from Podoliniec: Missa ex D and Vesperae de Beata V. Mariae. In the mass series Missa Solemnin in D L. Pych there are noticeable tonal and metric differences. This composer's predilection is the use of an inverted punctuated rhythm, the so-called Lombard rhythm. The division of the composition into independent sections indicates the influence of the cantata form. The virtuoso character of some fragments of the aria indicates a Neapolitan style. Many passages with a homophonic texture indicate an early classical style.
