- ItemLeopold Pych: Missa ex C(Instytut Muzyki i Tańca w Warszawie, 2014) Smolarek, DariuszMało znany polski kompozytor Leopold [Leopoldo] Pych [Pich] był w latach 1765–1774 dyrygentem zespołu muzycznego klasztoru dominikanów we Lwowie. Dwie takie same jego kompozycje Missa solemnis ex D i Vesperae B: V: M:. należały do repertuaru kapeli muzycznej cystersów w Krakowie (przechowywane obecnie w Archiwum Opactwa Cystersów w Mogile) i zespołu muzycznego klasztoru pijarów w Podolińcu (przechowywane obecnie w Państwowym Archiwum w Modrej). Benedictus a Visitatione B.V.M. SchP). Zespół wokalny stanowią duety i sola dwóch głosów: Canto (sopran) i Basso. The little-known Polish composer Leopold [Leopoldo] Pych [Pich] was in 1765–1774 the conductor of the music ensemble of the Dominican monastery in Lviv. As a result of queries and research, several works by L. Pych were found. They are currently in the Archives of the Cistercian Abbey in Kraków-Mogiła, the Diocesan Library in Sandomierz and the State Archives in Modra near Bratislava (Slovakia). Two identical compositions of his Missa solemnis ex D and Vesperae B: V: M:. belonged to the repertoire of the Cistercian music band in Kraków (currently stored in the Archives of the Cistercian Abbey in Mogiła) and the music ensemble of the Piarist monastery in Podoliniec (currently stored in the State Archives in Modra). Also these two identical compositions by L. Pych are in the Diocesan Library in Sandomierz. On the other hand, Missa ex C in the copy from 1772 was found only in the State Archives in Modra. The manuscript was drawn up by the Piarist Józef Weber, who lived in Podoliniec at that time (in the convent Father Benedictus a Visitatione B.V.M. SchP). The line-up is modest and consists of the instrumental Kirchentrio (violins 1 and 2 and the organ performing the basso continuo part). The vocal ensemble consists of duets and solos of two voices: Canto (soprano) and Basso. This composition lacks the polyphonic musical arrangement of the final part of the text of Credo, which begins with the words: Et in Spiritum Sanctum. In addition, in the first part of the Kyrie eleison cycle, the call Christe eleison is missing. It can also be hypothesized that the composition was created for the needs of a modest church ensemble, and the remaining texts were performed to the melody of Gregorian chant.
- ItemLeopold Pych: Missa Solemnis in D(Instytut Muzyki i Tańca w Warszawie, 2014) Smolarek, DariuszDziałający w połowie XVIII wieku kompozytor Leopold [Leopoldo] Pych [Pich] jest mało znaną postacią. The mid-18th century composer Leopold [Leopoldo] Pych [Pich] is a little-known figure. He was the conductor of the music band of the Dominican monastery in Lviv in the years 1765–1774. As a result of the research, it was possible to find several works by this composer. They are currently stored in the Archives of the Cistercian Abbey in Kraków-Mogiła (Poland), in the Diocesan Library in Sandomierz (Poland) and in the State Archives in Modra near Bratislava (Slovakia). The Archives of the Cistercian Abbey in Kraków-Mogiła contain two compositions by L. Pych: Missa solemnis ex D and Vesperae B: V: M:. During the research, it turned out that copies of the same works belonged to the Piarist monastery in Podoliniec (currently stored in the State Archive in Modra). Also in the Diocesan Library in Sandomierz, there are two compositions by L. Pych, identical to those preserved in Mogiła and of provenance from Podoliniec: Missa ex D and Vesperae de Beata V. Mariae. In the mass series Missa Solemnin in D L. Pych there are noticeable tonal and metric differences. This composer's predilection is the use of an inverted punctuated rhythm, the so-called Lombard rhythm. The division of the composition into independent sections indicates the influence of the cantata form. The virtuoso character of some fragments of the aria indicates a Neapolitan style. Many passages with a homophonic texture indicate an early classical style.
Bratysławy na Słowacji (proweniencja klasztoru pijarów w Podolińcu) przechowuje: Missa solennis ex D, Vesperae de Beata Virginis Mariae in D, Missa ex C. W Archiwum Opactwa Cystersów w Krakowie-Mogile znajdują się: Missa solennis ex D, Vesperae de Beata Virginis Mariae in D (te same kompozycje pochodzące z Podolińca). Potwierdzają to inskrypcje na kartach tytułowych rękopisu z Sandomierza (Vesperae De Beata V.[irgine] Maria) i cystersów z Mogiły (Vesperae B:[eatae] V:[irginis] M:[ariae]). The above list shows that L. Pych's work was known not only in Lviv, but also in other important church music centers of the Kingdom of Poland.
