dc.description.abstract	The paper analyzes different examples and diverse ways and methods of planned intervention for the regeneration of distres sed city areas in connection with the social and eco nomic problems. Author points up the value of care about architectural and cultural heritage and primarily about the towns people, who should be the main bene ficiary of all interventions; shows off that basing on lessons learned from the preceding ex perien ces of our European neighbors we can make our own projects.	pl
