dc.description.abstractCelem pracy doktorskiej jest analiza eksperymentów myślowych w filozofii w aspekcie ich genezy, struktury i funkcji. Głównym problemem pracy jest pytanie o to, czym są eksperymenty myślowe oraz jakie jest ich znaczenie dla filozofii. Postawiony cel znajduje swoje odbicie w strukturze pracy, na którą składają się cztery rozdziały. Dwa pierwsze rozdziały, "Geneza eksperymentów myślowych" oraz "Funkcje eksperymentów myślowych", prezentują ogólne spojrzenie na historię i zastosowanie eksperymentów myślowych w różnych dziedzinach filozofii. Dwa ostatnie rozdziały, "Wyobrażeniowość eksperymentu myślowego" oraz "Kontrfaktyczność eksperymentu myślowego", poświęcone są szczegółówej analizie istotnych cech eksperymentu myślowego. Ich celem jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie o znaczenie wyobrażeń w eksperymencie myślowym oraz sposób, w jaki eksperymenty myślowe mogą być narzędziem uzyskiwania wiedzy o tym, co metafizyczne możliwe.pl
dc.description.abstractThe aim of the doctoral dissertation is to analyze the origin, structure and functions of thought experiments in philosophy. The main problem of the dissertation is what thought experiments are and what their significance for philosophy is. This is reflected in the structure of the work, which consists of four chapters. The first two chapters, "The origin of thought experiments" and "Functions of thought experiments", present a general perspective on the history and application of thought experiments in various fields of philosophy. The last two chapter, "The imaginativeness of thought experiments" and "Counterfactual nature of thought experiments", are devoted to a detailed analysis of the essential features of thought experiments. Their aim is to answer the question about the importance of imagination in thought experiments and how thought experiments can be a tool for gaining knowledge about what is metaphysically possible.pl
