Abstract

Celem pracy doktorskiej jest określenie poziomu i uwarunkowań jakości życia osób po 60. roku życia z trudnościami w słyszeniu. Przedmiotem badań są osobowe i społeczne uwarunkowania jakości życia osób po 60. roku życia z trudnościami w słyszeniu. Praca ma charakter teoretyczno-empiryczny. Metodą badawczą wykorzystaną w rozprawie doktorskiej jest sondaż diagnostyczny. Praca składa się z trzech części: teoretycznej, metodologicznej i empirycznej. W pierwszej części przedstawiane są zagadnienia związane z funkcjonowaniem psychospołecznym osób w okresie starości, jakością życia osób starszych oraz charakterystyką trudności w słyszeniu wśród seniorów, Druga część zawiera metodologiczne podstawy własnych badań empirycznych. W części badawczej przedstawione są wyniki dotyczące jakości życia osób starszych z trudnościami w słyszeniu. Im wyższy poziom akceptacji trudności w słyszeniu, poszukiwania wsparcia społecznego oraz adaptacji pozytywnej do występujących nieprawidłowości w zakresie słyszenia, tym wyższa jakość życia seniorów. Wyższy poziom życia obserwuje się u osób, które mają wyższy poziom wykształcenia oraz w dalszym ciągu są czynne zawodowo. Natomiast im wyższy wiek badanych, poziom trudności w słyszeniu, tym niższa jakość życia respondentów. Wyższy poziom jakości życia występuje u osób starszych, które mieszkają w mieście.The aim of the dissertation is to determine the level and determinants of the quality of life of people over 60 with hearing difficulties. The subject of research is personal and social determinants of the quality of life of people over 60 with hearing difficulties. The thesis is both theoretical and empirical. The research method used in the doctoral dissertation is a diagnostic survey. The work consists of the three parts: theoretical, methodological and empirical. The first part presents related issues with the psychosocial functioning of people in old age, the quality of life of the elderly and the characteristic of hearing difficulties among seniors. The second part contains the methodological foundations of the own empirical research. The research part presents the results concerning the quality of life of elderly people with hearing difficulties. The higher the level of acceptance of hearing difficulties, seeking social support and positive adaptation to existing hearing impairments, the higher quality of life is observed in people who have higher level of education and are still professionally active. However, the higher the age of respondents and the level of hearing the age of respondents and the level of hearing difficulties, the lower the quality of life occurs in men older people who live in the city.
