Abstract
Seniorzy wnoszą w życie rodziny i Kościoła cenny dar wiary. Życie rodziny – domowego Kościoła jest miejscem, gdzie dziadkowie czują się kochani i sami obdarzają miłością. Dzięki własnym doświadczeniom życiowym zdobyli wiedzę i dojrzałość życiową. Jest to cenne bogactwo, którym mogą się dzielić z pokoleniem młodszym poprzez udzielanie mu rad i pouczeń. Dzieląc się pięknem swego życia dają wsparcie i zrozumienie w chwilach trudnych decyzji i wyborów swoim dzieciom i wnukom. Ludzie starsi wnoszą również duży wkład w ewangelizację. Dokonują tego zazwyczaj w domach rodzinnych. Właśnie tam wnuki poznają podstawy prawd wiary, dzięki swym dziadkom.
Z podeszłym wiekiem związane jest cierpienie. Ważne jest, by człowiek w doświadczeniu choroby odkrył szansę wewnętrznego rozwoju. Aby umiał ją wykorzystać dla dobra innych, by uczynił z niej narzędzie apostolskiego oddziaływania. Jan Paweł II zauważa, że mimo słabnących sił i doświadczania różnorakich dolegliwości, człowiek w podeszłym wieku ma wiele do zaoferowania współczesnemu człowiekowi: „starsi potrafią dać wam znacznie więcej, niż możecie sobie wyobrazić”.
Seniors bring to life the family and the Church a precious gift of faith. Family life – the home church is a place where grandparents feel loved and love themselves. Thanks to their own life experiences they gained knowledge and maturity. It is a valuable wealth that can be shared with the younger generation by giving him advice and instruction. Sharing the beauty of their lives, they provide support and understanding in times of difficult decisions and choices for their children and grandchildren. Elderly people also make a great contribution to evangelization. They usually do this in family homes. That's where grandchildren learn the basics of the truths of faith, thanks to their grandparents.
Old age is suffering. It is important that a person in the experience of the disease discover an opportunity for internal development. So he could use it for the benefit of others to make it a tool of apostolic influence. John Paul II notes that despite the weakness and experience of various ailments, the elderly have much to offer to the modern man: “The elders can give you much more than you can imagine”.
