W artykule przedstawiono postać kardynała z Warmii i proces prowadzący do stwierdzenia heroiczności jego cnót i chwały świętości. Zaznaczono wkład ks. Alojzego Szorca, który przewodniczył pracom opisywanej jednostki badawczej w Olsztynie oraz wskazano na postać o. Rolanda Prejsa, który został mianowany kierownikiem pracowni w Lublinie. W opracowaniu zagadnienia korzystano w materiałów archiwalnych KUL oraz opracowań dotyczących postaci Hozjusza i pracowni jego imienia w Olsztynie. Zastosowano metodę analizy i syntezy oraz metodę historyczną. The text discusses the history of the Hosiusian Studies Laboratory at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin in Lublin. Before its establishment at the Catholic University of Lublin, it already had its stage of activity in Olsztyn, where it worked for the historical commission in the beatification process of Cardinal Stanislaw Hosius. The article first presents the figure of the cardinal from Warmia and the history of the investigation of the heroicity of his virtues and fame of sanctity. The contribution of Fr. Alojzy Szorc, who presided over the work of the described research unit in Olsztyn, was marked, and the figure of Fr. Roland Prejs, who was appointed head of the laboratory in Lublin, was pointed out. The study of the issue made use of archival materials at the Catholic University of Lublin, as well as studies on the figure of Hosius and the history of the laboratory named after him in Olsztyn. W zakresie narzędzi perswazyjnych wskazuje na zachęty prawne i teologiczne oraz wylicza obrazy z życia codziennego, które mogą kogoś skłonić do podjęcia skorzystania z posługi konfesjonału i otwarcia swego serca w celu oczyszczenia sumienia i zyskania pojednania z sobą i ze światem. the article discusses the types and tools of persuasion and shows its application in moral theology in the context of encouraging the practice of sacramental confession. the author distinguishes persuasion as a tool for convincing another person, differentiating it from manipulation, which may have malicious intentions. he also distinguishes argumentation from persuasion, as he points to the sphere of persuasion’s influence on the intellect, will and feelings. he discusses the instructive, justifying and judging functions of rhetorical forms. Celem tekstu jest prezentacja misji teologa moralisty w zakresie odpowiedzialności za Kościół. W opracowaniu zagadnienia użyto metody analizy i syntezy oraz wskazano na elementy porównania wypowiedzi różnych papieży na ten temat. Rezultatem artykułu jest ukazanie trzech wymiarów misji teologa moralisty, które polegają na słuchaniu i rozeznawaniu oraz dążeniu do świętości i pełnieniu funkcji hermeneutycznej. Osobista świętość teologa moralisty i jego zakorzenienie we wspólnocie Kościoła pozwalają mu skutecznie realizować odpowiedzialność za przekaz i pogłębianie wiary, która jest drogą do zbawienia. This text deals with the responsibility of the moral theologian for the Church, which is realized in the form of growing in faith, discerning in its light the current situation of the Church, and taking on the task of the interpretation of the Gospel message in the present day. The purpose of the text is to present the mission of the moral theologian in terms of responsibility for the Church. In the development of the issue, the method of analysis and synthesis was used, and the comparison of the statements of various popes on this subject were pointed out. The result of the article is to show the three dimensions of the moral theologian's mission of listening and discernment, as well as the pursuit of holiness and the hermeneutical function. The critical function of the theologian imposes on him the task of deepening and developing the Church's teachings and popularizing them in contemporary language understandable to an audience immersed in modern culture. A moral theologian with a sense of responsibility for the Church helps to find answers to the question of how to live and how to respond to the challenges of the times. What is needed, therefore, is a pastoral conversion of theology, which, without losing anything from its in‑depth reflection based on correct methodology and solid knowledge gathered in careful reading, will be able to see the ecclesial perspective and can revitalize the faith of God's people. The personal holiness of the moral theologian and his/her rootedness in the community of the Church allow him to effectively carry out the responsibility of transmitting and deepening the faith, which is the path to salvation.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , Przyjaźń brata Kaliksta Kłoczki z artystami(Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Diecezji Elbląskiej w Elblągu, 2024) Derdziuk, AndrzejNiniejszy tekst prezentuje przyjacielskie relacje Sługi Bożego Kaliksta Kłoczko, pokornego brata stolarza z Warszawskiej Prowincji Zakonu Braci Mniejszych Kapucynów z artystami malarzami, rzeźbiarzami, muzykami oraz współbraćmi kapucynami obdarzonymi zdolnościami plastycznymi i zamiłowaniami do majsterkowania. Pokorny kapucyn, żyjący w latach 1930-2013, posługiwał w kapucyńskich klasztorach w Zakroczymiu, Lublinie i Lubartowie. Odznaczał się niezwykłą prostotą w relacjach z ludźmi, a także wielką wrażliwością na drugiego człowieka. Był utalentowanym stolarzem, potrafiącym znajdować genialne rozwiązania konstrukcyjne. Szczerze przyjaźnił się z wieloma artystycznie uzdolnionymi osobami, które potrafiły realizować swoje pasje w postaci tworzenia rzeźb, mozaik, malowania obrazów i wykonywania innych artefaktów. This text presents the friendly relations of the Servant of God Kalikst Kloczko, a humble carpenter brother of the Warsaw Province of the Order of Capuchin Friars Minor, with painters, sculptors, musicians and fellow Capuchin friars endowed with artistic abilities and a love of tinkering. The humble Capuchin, who lived from 1930 to 2013, served in Capuchin friaries in Zakroczym, Lublin and Lubartów. He was distinguished by extraordinary simplicity in his relations with people, as well as great sensitivity to others. He was a talented carpenter, capable of finding ingenious construction solutions. He was sincere friends with many artistically gifted people who were able to realize their passions in the form of creating sculptures, mosaics, painting pictures and making other artifacts. They were captivated by his sensitivity to beauty, as well as his openness to God and others. At least four of the ten fragments can be isolated on physical and paleographic grounds as having been penned by the same hand (frags. 2-7). Each of the remaining four fragments probably belongs to a different hand. The separation of frag. 1 from frags. 2-7 is crucial since they have been used to reconstruct the composite text (B 21-24) based on 4Q397 1-2 and 11Q19 51:4-5. As a result, there is no unequivocal evidence to associate frags. 2-7 with MMT. While these fragments contain some words attested to in that document, they are not unique to it, and the grammatical forms of the words are not identical. In addition, some readings are uncertain, and the letter traces in line 2 of frag. 1 complicate the reconstruction of the DJD X. It is, therefore, reasonable to accept the possibility that 4Q398a does not make up MMT and, consequently, to look for better-justified relationships between these ten fragments and other manuscripts based on their physical and paleographic features. The initial section provides an overview of the relevant portion of codex sa 52 (M 568) containing the text under study, followed by a concise list and description of additional manuscripts that preserve at least some verses from Isa 56–57. The core of the article features the Coptic text in the Sahidic dialect, accompanied by an English translation. A tabular comparison highlights deviations between the Sahidic text and the Greek Septuagint, its source, including additions, omissions, lexical variations, and semantic shifts in the Coptic translation. The final section addresses complex philological challenges, whether inherent to the Coptic text or arising from its relationship to the Septuagint, aiming to resolve interpretive difficulties.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , King David as a Righteous Man in the Light of Qumran Literature and Post-Biblical Texts of Early Judaism(Wydawnictwo KUL, 2026) Biegas, MarcinThe present paper analyses the picture of David as a righteous man depicted in non-biblical Qumran texts and the literature of Early Judaism. The choice of such a broad research field results from the fact that no articles have been published so far that would examine this theme in detail based on the above compositions. Thus, undertaking this task is a justified endeavour. The paper will be divided into three parts. The first part will present the biblical background, mainly based on post-exilic literature. In the second part, fragments of four Qumran manuscripts – 4QMMT, CD, 1Q33 and 11Q5 – will be analysed. Finally, the literature of early Jewish writings containing depictions of David will be discussed. Na podstawie analizy treści i formy ich zachowanych pism, poglądów antropologicznych zawartych w zachowanych dziełach oraz podejścia do kwestii homoseksualizmu w kulturze antycznego Rzymu takie twierdzenia należy zweryfikować negatywnie. Istniejące źródła nie wskazują na relacje homoseksualne pomiędzy nimi, zaś przesłanki na podstawie których wysnuwane są takie wnioski wynikają z pobieżnego i wybiórczego traktowania źródeł. Erotyczne odniesienia czy wyrazy tęsknoty istniejące w przesyłanych listach to elementy literackiej konwencji i podjętej gry literackiej, zaś istniejące głębokie relacje opisywane w tychże listach mają dotyczą zwykłych ludzkich relacji uczeń-nauczyciel i przyjaciele, przestawiane zaś w dziełach literackich są również prezentowane za pomocą retorycznych środków literackich na co nakłada się chrześcijańskie rozumienie przyjaźni i miłości. Various studies have suggested homosexual relationships between Ausonius, Paulinus of Nola and Sulpicius Severus. However, based on an analysis of the content and form of their surviving writings, the anthropological views they express, and their approach to homosexuality in ancient Roman culture, such claims should be rejected. Existing sources do not suggest such relationships, and the conclusions are based on a superficial and selective interpretation of the sources. Erotic references and expressions of longing in the letters are literary conventions and games, while the profound relationships described are believed to be ordinary human relationships between students, teachers and friends. W badaniu przyjęto podejście hermeneutyczne i porównawcze, analizując wybrane pisma Ojców Kościoła – zwłaszcza Bazylego Wielkiego, Grzegorza z Nazjanzu, Jana Chryzostoma, Augustyna, Klemensa Aleksandryjskiego i Paulina z Noli – aby zgłębić duchowy i moralny wymiar uzdrawiania i formacji człowieka i ważność słowa w tym procesie. Struktura artykułu przechodzi od egzegezy źródeł patrystycznych, poprzez porównanie z nowoczesnymi zasadami terapeutycznymi, do sformułowania wytycznych inspirowanych tradycją chrześcijańską. Wykorzystując historyczno-teologiczną analizę treści, autor wykazuje, że w antropologii patrystycznej terapia oznacza uzdrowienie duszy poprzez słowo, relację i miłość. Odkrycia podkreślają trwały wkład myśli patrystycznej w antropologiczne i etyczne podstawy współczesnej logopedii, ukazując ją jako formę służby i integralnego towarzyszenia człowiekowi w procesie jego rozwoju i odnowy. The article addresses the problem of understanding the concepts of therapy and therapist within the context of patristic thought and their relevance to contemporary speech therapy practice. The study adopts a hermeneutic and comparative approach, analyzing selected writings of the Church Fathers – especially Basil the Great, Gregory of Nazianzus, John Chrysostom, Augustine, Clement of Alexandria, and Paulinus of Nola – to explore the spiritual and moral dimensions of healing and human formation and the importance of the word in this process. The structure of the article moves from the exegesis of patristic sources, through a comparison with modern therapeutic principles, to the formulation of guidelines inspired by Christian tradition. Using historical-theological content analysis, the author demonstrates that, in patristic anthropology, therapy signifies the healing of the soul through word, relationship, and love. Introduction presents a methodological basis and a fresh dialog carried on in recent decades between biblical and psychological studies. In addition to the analysis of psychological phenomena in biblical texts from the classical, historical-critical perspective, scholars increasingly turn to positive psychology, neuroscience, and social studies, examining emotions, communication strategies, relationships, values and development of individuals and communities. The authors go on to indicate the topics and biblical texts that open up to a fruitful dialog with diverse psychological approaches. The second part of the paper describes an original project developed at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) titled “The Relevance of the Bible for the Development of Religious and Spiritual Resources,” which uses two tools for studying changes in religious and spiritual resources: Religious Resources Scale and Spiritual Resources Scale. They are employed to study the impact of biblical texts on people who differ in terms of developmental conditions (e.g., age) and/or situational factors (including experience of existential emptiness, loneliness, bereavement, migration, and war conditions). The paper describes the methodology and the psychometric indicators of the above-mentioned measurement tools. The Religious Resources Scale and the Spiritual Resources Scale are used to detect religious and spiritual changes under the influence of biblical texts. They constitute the methodological basis for a pioneering interdisciplinary research conducted at KUL, which promotes a cooperation between biblical studies and psychology.
