Abstract

The article concerns the question of the use and interpretation of forms connoted with Polish manor house in the early XX and XXI century architecture. Firstly, the authordiscusses residential buildings whose form refers to the Polish cottage style. Secondly, the article presents some examples and points at the ideological sources of drawing inspiration from this type of historical style in the interwar period. Finally, the author attempts to analyse contemporary projects inspired by the archetype of the Polish manor house, and juxtaposes them with the architecture of a century ago.
