dc.description.abstractPraca podejmuje zagadnienie troski o zdrowie i życie człowieka w sytuacjach granicznych, uwzględniając przede wszystkim te, które wiążą się z bezpośrednim zagrożeniem śmiercią. Zawarto w niej omówienie troski o zdrowie i życie człowieka jako imperatywu moralnego, dlatego dokonano analizy teologicznej i filozoficznej tego zagadnienia. Z tym tematem wiąże się szczególna rola służby zdrowia, dlatego osobno poruszono kwestię etosu lekarskiego. Osobnej analizie poddano istniejące sposoby podtrzymywania ludzkiego życia oraz omówiono rozwój ratownictwa medycznego, a także historyczne i współczesne sposoby reanimacji. Najważniejszy kazus związany z sytuacjami granicznymi ludzkiego życia dotyczy uporczywej terapii, której poświęcono osobny rozdział. Praca podejmuje zagadnienie, omawiając je z perspektywy biomedycznej i bioetycznej. W pierwszej części analizuje historyczne i współczesne oblicze terapii daremnych i ich zależności od poziomu rozwoju medycyny. Dużo miejsca poświęca także kwestii śmierci, która rozumiana jest jako kres wszelkiej terapii. W drugiej części omówiono etyczną refleksję na temat uporczywej terapii z perspektywy historycznej. Osobno przeanalizowano współczesne stanowiska świeckie oraz wypowiedzi Magisterium Kościoła dotyczące tego zagadnienia, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem stosowanych środków medycznych oraz postaw lekarzy w stosunku do stanów życia wegetatywnego. Na koniec omówiono rolę pacjenta, lekarza i rodziny w podjęciu decyzji o zaniechaniu uporczywej terapii.pl
dc.description.abstractThe work deals with the issue of care for human health and life in borderline situations, including first of all those that involve a direct threat of death. It contains a discussion of concern for human health and life as a moral imperative, which is why the theological and philosophical analysis of this issue was made. The special role of health care is associated with this topic, therefore the issue of the medical ethos is addressed separately. The existing ways of sustaining human life were also analyzed separately, and the development of emergency medical services as well as historical and contemporary methods of resuscitation were discussed. The most important case related to borderline situations of human life concerns persistent therapy, which is discussed in a separate chapter. The work addresses the issue by discussing it from a biomedical and bioethical perspective. In the first part, he analyzes the historical and contemporary face of futile therapies and its dependence on the level of medicine's development. He also devotes much space to death, which is understood as the end of all therapy. The second part discusses the ethical reflection on the subject of persistent therapy from a historical perspective. Separately analyzed were contemporary secular positions and statements of the Church's Magisterium regarding this issue. Finally, the role of the patient, the doctor and the family in making decisions about abandoning persistent therapy is discussed.pl
