- ItemSocial and cultural changes of the 21st century in the United States of America as a challenge for the pastoral care of the Catholic Church(2024-06-17) Rozborski, GrzegorzThis thesis presents the theological description and evaluation of the cultural and social changes of the 21st century impacting the pluralistic society of the United States. Such phenomena as secularism, globalization, moral relativism, and technological progress have changed the lives of people significantly. There are some positive consequences of these changes, including the improvement of the corporeal well-being of people, opportunities to overcome poverty, using technological advances, freedom, and the emphasis on human dignity, which make the lives of people easier. At the same time, the Catholic Church finds many detrimental and morally corrupt consequences of these trends. Among them are social disintegration, aggravation of poverty, mass migration, unethical use of technology, and the erosion of American society’s faith. This theological research is based on the See-Judge-Act methodological paradigm that is commonly used in Pastoral Theology. The description of modern cultural and social trends is followed by the theological evaluation and proposed solution to the problems presented by these changes. This thesis answers three questions: 1) What are the most important manifestations of social and cultural changes in American society at the beginning of the twenty-first century? 2) How are these changes interpreted and evaluated in the official documents of the Church in the United States? 3) What changes should be made in the pastoral ministry so that the Church in the United States can fulfill her saving mission in the current social and cultural conditions? It is possible to conclude that the Catholic Church should concentrate on the balanced integration of positive modern tendencies into pastoral care without betraying Biblical principles and Christian doctrine and timely reaction to unacceptable tendencies. Niniejsza rozprawa przedstawia teologiczny opis i ocenę zmian kulturowych i społecznych XXI wieku, które wpływają na pluralistyczne społeczeństwo Stanów Zjednoczonych. Zjawiska takie jak sekularyzm, globalizacja, relatywizm moralny i postęp technologiczny znacząco zmieniły życie ludzi. Istnieją pewne pozytywne konsekwencje tych zmian, które ułatwiają życie ludziom, w tym poprawa dobrobytu materialnego, możliwości przezwyciężenia ubóstwa, wykorzystanie postępu technologicznego, wolność i nacisk na godność ludzką. Jednocześnie Kościół katolicki dostrzega wiele szkodliwych i moralnie złych konsekwencji tych trendów. Wśród nich są dezintegracja społeczna, pogłębianie się ubóstwa niektórych grup społecznych, masowa migracja, nieetyczne wykorzystanie technologii i erozja wiary amerykańskiego społeczeństwa. Niniejsze badania teologiczne opierają się na paradygmacie metodologicznym „widzieć-oceniać-działać”, który jest powszechnie stosowany w teologii pastoralnej. Po opisie współczesnych trendów kulturowych i społecznych następuje teologiczna ocena i proponowane jest rozwiązanie problemów związanych z tymi zmianami. Niniejsza rozprawa odpowiada na trzy pytania: 1) Jakie są najważniejsze przejawy zmian społecznych i kulturowych w społeczeństwie amerykańskim na początku XXI wieku? 2) Jak te zmiany są interpretowane i oceniane w oficjalnych dokumentach Kościoła w Stanach Zjednoczonych? 3) Jakich zmian należy dokonać w duszpasterstwie, aby Kościół w Stanach Zjednoczonych mógł wypełniać swoją zbawczą misję w obecnych warunkach społecznych i kulturowych? Można stwierdzić, że Kościół katolicki powinien skoncentrować się na zrównoważonej integracji pozytywnych współczesnych tendencji w duszpasterstwie bez zdrady zasad biblijnych i doktryny chrześcijańskiej oraz na szybkiej reakcji na niedopuszczalne moralnie tendencje.

Część drugą i główną stanowi edycja dzieła Quaestiones super I-II, IV-X et XII libros Metaphysicorum Aristotelis Marsyliusza z Inghen, część pierwszą natomiast wstęp edytorski. Wstęp przedstawia informacje techniczne, w jakie winna być zaopatrzona edycja. Ponadto chce być rodzajem skromnego opracowania historyczno-filozoficznego. Można w nim wyodrębnić trzy zasadnicze części. Pierwsza poświęcona jest osobie Marsyliusza z Inghen. Przedmiot, wokół którego ogniskuje się druga część wstępu, stanowią wydawane Quaestiones Marsyliusza. Trzecia część wstępu ma charakter techniczny. Drugą część niniejszej pracy stanowi edycja dzieła Quaestiones Marsyliusza. Przedkłada się w niej wersję tekstu zachowaną w manuskrypcie przechowywanym w Bibliotece Jagiellońskiej w Krakowie pod sygnaturą 710, uznając ją za jakościowo najlepszą. Jednocześnie w aparacie filologicznym podano wszystkie inne lekcje obecne w pozostałych siedmiu zachowanych przekazach komentarza metafizycznego Marsyliusza. Tym samym czytelnik otrzymuje konkretny tekst Quaestiones, jaki funkcjonował w określonej rzeczywistości historycznej XV-wiecznych miast Europy Środkowej. Zarazem dostarcza się mu możliwości śledzenia ewolucji wydawanego tekstu w całej zachowanej tradycji rękopiśmiennej. Równolegle do aparatu krytycznego sporządzono na potrzeby niniejszej edycji aparat historyczno-literacki. The work consists of two parts. The second and main part is the edition of the work Quaestiones super I-II, IV-X et XII libros Metaphysicorum Aristotelis by Marsilius of Inghen, while the first part is the editorial introduction. The introduction presents the technical information with which the edition should be provided. Furthermore, it wants to be a kind of modest historical and philosophical study. Three main parts can be distinguished in it. The first is devoted to the person of Marsilius. The subject around which the second part of the introduction is centred is Marsilius’ Quaestiones. The third part of the introduction is technical in nature. The second part of this work is an edition of the Quaestiones. It submits the version of the text preserved in the manuscript stored in the Jagiellonian Library in Krakow under the reference number 710, considering it to be of the best quality. At the same time, the philological apparatus lists all other lessons present in the other seven preserved transmissions of Marsilius’ metaphysical commentary. Thus, the reader is provided with a real text of the Quaestiones as it functioned in the specific historical reality of the 15 th century cities of Central Europe. At the same time, he has the opportunity to trace the evolution of the published text throughout the surviving manuscript tradition. In parallel to the critical apparatus, a literary-historical apparatus has been drawn up for this edition.

Nie jest jedynie możliwością zarobku - w pierwszej kolejności ma służyć, jako narzędzie do zmian postaw osadzonych. Praca osób odbywających karę pozbawienia wolności pełni funkcję poprawczą i readaptacyjną, kształci i utrwala nowo zdobyte kompetencje. W trakcie wykonywania pracy w osadzonym powinien wykształcić się szacunek do pracy i osób, które ją wykonują. Praca daje możliwość osadzonemu poznania życia zgodnego z prawem, które daje szansę na powrót do poprawnego funkcjonowania w społeczeństwie. Dzięki pracy osadzony dodatkowo uczy się dyscypliny, punktualności, sumienności w realizacji swoich obowiązków, organizacji czasu pracy, jak również utrwala nawyk pracy. Praca osadzonych spełnia tym samym rolę edukacyjną, często kojarzoną z doskonaleniem kompetencji zawodowych oraz innymi działaniami, których celem jest rozwój zawodowy. Konkludując, praca jest ważna w życiu człowieka. Jej brak powoduje problemy ekonomiczne, psychologiczne, społeczne. Podejmowanie pracy przez osoby odbywające karę pozbawienia wolności należy rozpatrywać w kategoriach „zysków” i „strat”, „czynników chroniących” i „czynników ryzyka”. W analizach zachowana została równowaga, z jednej strony między historycznym i systematycznym aspektem dociekań nad rozwijanymi teoriami wyjaśniającymi związek ciała i duszy, z drugiej zaś bardziej współczesnym i naukowo uzasadnionym podejściem do tego szeroko dyskutowanego tematu. This dissertation offers a critical examination of the metaphysical constitution of the human person, with a particular focus on the mind and body problem, adopting the relevant hylomorphism developed by the realist metaphysics of the Aristotelian-Thomistic tradition. The primary role of the formal cause is examined in order to highlight the philosophically advantageous results of a hylomorphic account as well as to show as far as is possible that this is really how facts are with the ontological constitution of the human person, hence the commitment to realist metaphysics. This research project, therefore, intends to defend the priority of form, understood in terms of both metaphysical and explanatory priority. In order for this examination to be a systematic one, contrasting accounts are also discussed, these being, primarily, dualistic theories as well as materialist approaches. A balance is struck between a historical and classical investigation into the way these theories accounting for the body and soul relationship were developed, on the one hand, and a more contemporary and scientifically informed approach to this widely discussed theme.
- ItemAntropomorfizacja postaci zwierzęcej na podstawie wybranych utworów z fikcjonalnej prozy niderlandzkiej XIX, XX i XXI wieku(2024-04-15) Olszewski, DamianNiniejsza rozprawa nosi tytuł „Antropomorfizacja postaci zwierzęcej na podstawie wybranych utworów z fikcjonalnej prozy niderlandzkiej XIX, XX i XXI wieku". Temat podjęty w pracy dotyczy zatem literackich postaci zwierzęcych obdarzonych cechami ludzkimi. W innych pracach badawczych analizy tego typu bohaterów wykazują brak pogłębionego zastanowienia nad istotą antropomorfizacji. Zadaniem niniejszej rozprawy jest ustalenie, czym jest antropomorfizacja postaci zwierzęcej, jakie są jej rodzaje oraz w wyniku jakich strategii narracyjnych dochodzi do powstania efektu antropomorfizacji. Stawiam hipotezę, iż antropomorfizacja jest zabiegiem niejednorodnym - możliwym jest wyszczególnienie różnych jej kategorii. Na podstawie analizy bazującej na różnych myślach filozoficznych i literaturoznawczych proponuję podział antropomorfizacji na cztery typy zależne od aspektu zwierzęcia, które dalej konfrontuję z teorią narratologiczną Mieke Bal. W zależności od perspektywy narracyjnej (narracje i fokalizacje w utworze) antropomorfizacja uzyskuje inne uzasadnienie jako strategia poetycka w utworze. Stąd możliwe jest wyszczególnienie szesnastu wariantów antropomorfizacji. Na podstawie zebranego materiału dzielę najpopularniejsze warianty między 3 strategie antropomorfizacji, świadczące o najbardziej typowych cechach postaci zwierzęcia antropomorficznego. The title of the dissertation is "Anthropomorphization of an animal figure based on selected works from the fictional Dutch prose of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries". The topic taken up in the work therefore concerns literary animal characters endowed with human features. In other research works, analyzes of this type of heroes show a lack of in-depth reflection on the essence of anthropomorphization. The purpose of this dissertation is to determine what the anthropomorphization of an animal figure is, what are its types, and what kind of narrative strategies lead to the occurrence of the effect of anthropomorphization. I hypothesize that anthropomorphization is a heterogeneous procedure. It is possible to specify its various categories. On the basis of an analysis based on various philosophical and literary thoughts, I propose a division of anthropomorphization into four types depending on the aspect of the animal, which I then confront with Mieke Bal's narratological theory. Depending on the narrative perspective (narratives and focalizations), anthropomorphization receives a different justification as a poetic strategy in the poem. Hence, it is possible to specify sixteen variants of anthropomorphization. Based on the collected material, I divide the most popular variants between 3 anthropomorphization strategies, showing the most typical features of an anthropomorphic animal. Celem rozprawy jest zbadanie, czy metafizyka Millera stanowi udane rozwinięcie metafizyki Akwinaty, oraz tego, jaki wpływ na rezultaty osiągnięte przez Millera miało zastosowanie idei i metod zaczerpniętych z filozofii analitycznej. Rozprawa składa się z siedmiu rozdziałów pogrupowanych w dwie części. Część pierwsza, zatytułowana „Prezentacja metafizyki Barry’ego Millera”, składa się z trzech rozdziałów, poświęconych kolejno: koncepcji istnienia, argumentowi za istnieniem Boga oraz problematyce natury Boga. Część druga, zatytułowana „Dyskusja nad wybranymi składnikami metafizyki Barry’ego Millera”, składa się z czterech rozdziałów. W rozdziale czwartym badany jest sposób, w jaki Miller przedstawia relację między indywiduum a jego istnieniem. The subject of the dissertation is the presentation and evaluation of the metaphysics of Australian analytical Thomist Barry Miller. The purpose of the dissertation is to examine whether Miller’s metaphysics represents a successful development of Aquinas’s metaphysics, and how Miller’s results were influenced by the application of ideas and methods drawn from analytic philosophy. The dissertation consists of seven chapters grouped into two parts. Part One, entitled “Presentation of Barry Miller’s Metaphysics,” consists of three chapters, dealing respectively with the concept of existence, the argument for the existence of God, and the problem of the nature of God. Part two, entitled “Discussion of Selected Components of Barry Miller's Metaphysics,” consists of four chapters. Chapter four examines how Miller presents the relationship between the individual and his existence. Chapter five is dedicated to showing whether and how Miller’s conception of the relationship between the individual and existence can be a starting point of a metaphysical argument for the existence of God. In chapter six, Miller’s argument against the possibility of infinite sequences of intermediate causes of existence is examined. Chapter seven discusses to Miller’s account of the doctrine of the simplicity of God.
