Przepięknie położony obiekt od 1537 jest zamieszkały przez kapucynów, którzy rozbudowali go znacząco i nadali mu specyficzny klimat modlitwy i skupienia. Aktualnie są tam rozwijane różne inicjatywy duszpasterskie, z których najbardziej rozbudowaną jest szkoła modlitwa prowadzona przez braci przez kilka miesięcy w ciągu każdego roku. Celle di Cortona przyciąga turystów i pielgrzymów nie tylko wartością historycznych zabytków, ale też ofertą pogłębienia duchowości franciszkańskiej.

The Capuchin monastery in Celle di Cortona in Italy is the first institution of the Franciscan order built by the friars and not taken over as an existing institution.
