Abstract
Parafia jest wspólnotą uczniów Chrystusa, którzy słuchają Jego słowa, składają cześć Ojcu w Duchu Świętym i służą sobie wzajemnie w duchu wzajemnej miłości. Wspólnota ta wyraża się i buduje dzięki słuchaniu i głoszeniu słowa Bożego, liturgii i modlitwie, świadectwu chrześcijańskiego życia i posłudze miłości.
The parish is the community of the Christ’s disciples who listen to His words, worship The Father and The Holy Spirit and coexist serving one another humbly in love. The community is formed and expressed through listening to and proclaiming the Word of God, through the liturgy and prayer, through bearing witness to a life of a Christian and through the ministry of love. The Parish Pastoral Council exerts great influence on the process of building the community of a parish. This is indicated by the canon law and the teaching of the Universal Church and the Church in Poland after the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council. The main aim of the Parish Pastoral Council is to assist the parish priest in his pastoral duties which mostly means giving advice. However, the need to involve the Parish Pastoral Council in organizing, coordinating and implementing the pastoral initiatives in the parish should also be indicated. The Parish Pastoral Council should also provide the religious activation to the parishioners who are supposed to regard the council as a forum to exchange the ideas which concern the life of a parish.
