Abstract

Rozprawa dotyczy nazw ulic w gminach i małych miastach województwa świętokrzyskiego. Za małe miasta uznaje się miejscowości, które nie posiadają statusu powiatu, w przypadku gmin brano pod uwagę nie tylko ich siedziby, ale wszystkie miejscowości, w których zostały nazwane ulice. Zebrany materiał podzielono wg klasyfikacji semantyczno-funkcjonalnej na trzy podstawowe grupy: nazwy charakteryzujące, kulturowe oraz pamiątkowe. Opisano takie zjawiska z zakresu nazewnictwa miejskiego jak: dane statystyczne dotyczące nazw ulic, a także informacje dotyczące ukształtowania terenu, historii i kultury analizowanych miejscowości, a także powodowane przez przemiany historyczno-polityczne. W ostatnich latach wielu kontrowersji dostarczyła realizacja tzw. ustawy dekomunizacyjnej i związane z nią zmiany nazw kilkunastu ulic w badanym terenie. W rozprawie znalazły się również wskazówki dotyczące nadawania nazw ulic, które mogą okazać się przydatne dla członków Rad Gmin i Miast, którzy opracowują uchwały dotyczące nazewnictw miejskiego.

The dissertation concerns street names in communes and small towns of the Świętokrzyskie province. Small towns are considered to be those which do not have the status of a poviat; in the case of communes, not, only their seats were taken into account, but all the towns in which streets were named. The collected material was divided according to semantic-functional classification into three basic groups: characterizing names, cultural names, and commemorative names. It describes such phenomena in the field of urban naming as: statistical data on street names, as well as information on the lay of the land, history and culture of the analyzed towns. A separate part of the work consists of changes in the urban names resulting from the development of the infrastructure of particular localities, as well as caused by historical and political transformations. In recent years, the implementation of the so-called Decommunization Act and the related changes in the names of several streets in the area under study have caused much controversy. The dissertation also provided guidance on street naming that may prove useful to members of Municipal and City Councils who are drafting municipal naming resolutions.
