Abstract
El presente trabajo pretende ofrecer una visión diacrónica de la celebración del Matrimonio en el territorio de la antigua Hispania romana, coincidente con la Península Ibérica. Desde la época prerromana hasta nuestros días, insistiendo, particularmente, en la evolución de dichos ritos desde la cristianización hasta los rituales hoy vigentes. Poniendo el acento en el origen, formación-codificación y pervivencia de la tradición propia del hoy conocido como Rito hispano-mozárabe. Como se puede ver por los títulos del presente trabajo, se ha seguido una consideración cronológica del desarrollo de la institución matrimonial en el territorio de la Península Ibérica. A la vez que, siempre que ha sido posible, se han realizado algunas comparaciones sincrónicas entre el rito romano y el hispano mozárabe. La metodología ha combinado la referencia a estudios especializados, por lo que se refiere a la tradición del Matrimonio en los pueblos de la Hispania prerromana y romana; y para lo que se refiere a todo el period cristiano, el recurso directo a las sucesivas fuentes litúrgicas, sin dejar de hacer referencia a algunos estudios especializados sobre este periodo. Hemos constatado la importancia de los ritos romano-paganos y el proceso de inculturación cristiana con relación a ellos y su mantenimiento, aún dentro de la liturgia romana, hasta nuestros días. Podemos constatar la convicción de estos ritos y textos con respecto al origen en la creación del Matrimonio y su continuidad y perfeccionamiento al elevarlo Cristo a la condición de sacramento, apareciendo éste profundamente fundado en lo teológico e implicando a la comunidad eclesial en su conjunto. Al mismo tiempo destaca la insistencia en la común dignidad entre el esposo y la esposa dentro del Matrimonio.
This paper aims to offer a diachronic view of the celebration of Marriage in the territory of ancient Roman Hispania, coinciding with the Iberian Peninsula. From pre-Roman times to the present day, focusing, in particular, on the evolution of these rites from Christianization to the rituals in force today. Emphasizing the origin, formation/codification and survival of the tradition of what is now known as the Hispano-Mozarabic Rite. As can be seen from the chapter titles of this work, a chronological analysis of the development of the institution of marriage in the territory of the Iberian Peninsula has been followed. At the same time, whenever possible, some synchronous comparisons have been made between the Roman rite and the Hispano-Mozarabic rite. The methodology combines reference to specialized studies, with regard to the tradition of marriage in the peoples of pre-Roman and Roman Hispania; and for the entire Christian period, direct recourse to successive liturgical sources, without forgetting reference to some specialized studies on this period. Particular note is taken of the importance of the Roman-pagan rites and the process of Christian inculturation involving them and their maintenance, even within the Roman liturgy, to the present day. Thus confirmed is the conviction implied in these rites and texts concerning the origin of matrimony in the creation and its continuity and perfection when Christ raised it to the status of a sacrament, which appears to be deeply grounded in theology and involving the ecclesial community as a whole. At the same time, the insistence on the acknowledgement of common dignity between husband and wife within marriage stands out.
