dc.description.abstractGegenstand der vorliegenden Dissertation ist die Untersuchung der Epoche des Mittelalters, die nach wie vor wie keine andere europäische Hochkultur diskriminiert wird. Gleichzeitig lässt sich zurzeit in Deutschland ein reges öffentliches Interesse an der Epoche erkennen, das 'vor allem in verschiedenen Ausprägungen der deutschen Popkultur zum Ausdruck kommt. Vor diesem Hintergrund war zunächst das Ziel der unternommenen Untersuchung, das Mittelalter in seiner so verstandenen entzweiten - negativen und positiven - Wahrnehmung zu betrachten, vor allem konzentriert sie sich aber auf das Phänomen der Renaissance des Mittelalters in der Gattung des historischen Romans. Der in den dargestellten popkulturellen Bereichen - den historischen Roman eingeschlossen - präsenten Epoche, wird nämlich oft vorgeworfen, es handle sich bei ihr nicht um historische Epoche, sondern um pseudo-mittelalterliche Welten und das Interesse an ihr entspreche nicht dem historischen. Dieser Einwand wurde in der Dissertation mit konkreten ausgewählten Werken von zwei deutschen Bestseller-Autoren, Rebecca Gablé und Iny Lorentz, konfrontiert. Die unternommene Analyse ließ den Vorwurf in Bezug auf die besprochenen historischen Romane zurückweisen, zeigten aber zugleich, dass Untersuchungen angebracht wären, die die Erschließung des zu betrachtenden und komplexen Phänomen in seiner gesamten Breite und eigentlichen Bedingtheit ermöglichen würden.pl
dc.description.abstractWywód niniejszej rozprawy doktorskiej oscyluje wokół epoki średniowiecza, która jak żadna inna kultura europejska spotyka się do dnia dzisiejszego ze stereotypowym negatywnym postrzeganiem jako okresu ciemnoty i upadku kultury. Jednocześnie w Niemczech daje się obecnie zauważyć niezwykle żywe powszechne zainteresowanie tą epoką, mające swój wyraz w jej obecności w różnorodnych dziedzinach współczesnej popkultury niemieckiej. Rozważania podjęte w ramach przedłożonej dysertacji mają na celu ujęcie średniowiecza w jego tak rozumianej dwojakiej - negatywnej i pozytywnej - percepcji, mającej swoje konkretne podłoże historyczne, przede wszystkim jednak odwołują się do zjawiska renesansu średniowiecza w niemieckojęzycznej literaturze współczesnej, kładąc szczególny akcent na współczesną niemiecką powieść historyczną, powstałą w i po roku 2010. Obecna w popkulturze, w tym także w powieściach historycznych, epoka spotyka się często z zarzutem przybierania form pseudośredniowiecznych rzeczywistości, który został skonfrontowany z wybranymi oraz poddanymi analizie dziełami dwóch znanych niemieckich powieściopisarzy: Rebecci Gablé oraz Iny Lorentz. Wyłaniający się z analizy literacki konstrukt „średniowiecze” pozwolił na obalenie powyższego zarzutu, ukazując jednocześnie na potrzebę przeprowadzenia obszerniejszych badań ujmujących zarysowane zjawisko w szerszej perspektywie.pl
dc.description.abstractThis doctoral dissertation treats about the Middle Ages, which is an extremely colourful period, nevertheless no other European culture is as disapproved and disregarded as the culture of the Middle Ages. Described phenomenon has its own precise historical background. At the same time there are no doubts about the extraordinary presence and interest of the Middle Ages in the German pop culture, but this interest in the described epoch does not directly come from the interest of the history. In this way, they are presently facing a firm rejection, while on the other hand there is an affirmation. What is more, there is often formulated the accusation that the Middle Ages present in the present pop culture (in historical novels as well) often takes the form of pseudo-medieval reality and does not have much in common with a real historical epoch. This statement was confronted with specific authors and texts: Rebecca Gablé and Iny Lorentz. To sum up the accomplished analysis it can be eventually stated that the literary construct 'the Middle Ages' is not a pseudo-medieval reality. The writers set great store on remaining the authenticity and reliability of historical facts. Although limiting the arguments to analysis of singular sources shows the need of conducting further research treating this phenomenon in wider perspective.pl
