Abstract
Dysertacja ukazuje wymóg posiadania odpowiedniego zdrowia jako jeden z istotnych przymiotów kandydatów do święceń, którego brak ogranicza dopuszczenie do tego sakramentu. Przedmiotem bdań jest analiza dokumentów papieży i dykasterii Kurii Rzymskiej dotyczących sakramentu święceń. Analiza ta pozwoliła udowodnić, że nadal istnieją trudności w ocenie zdatności kandydatów do święceń ze względu na ich zdrowie fizyczne i psychiczne. Wynikają one z pewnych nieścisłości czy braków dotyczących omawianego tematu jak również z faktu, że większość wypowiedzi Stolicy Apostolskiej dotyczy kandydatów do prezbiteratu. Zawarte w niniejszej pracy wnioski z przeprowadzonych badań stanowia próbę szczegółowej analizy i uporządkowania kryteriów oraz norm dotyczących zdrowia kandydatów do święceń. Wśród kwestii, będących przedmiotem niniejszej rozprawy doktorskiej, znajdują się zagadnienia dotyczące problemów zdrowotnych wymienionych w dokumentach poświęconych kandydatom do święceń oraz nieprawidłowości wynikające z przyczyn natury psychicznej, okaleczenia siebie i próby samobójczej. Zwrócono także uwagę na to, że kandydaci do święceń powinni wykazywać wyraźną męską tożsamość płciową oraz powinni osiągnąć odpowiednią dojrzałość uczuciową, aby w sposób świadomy i wolny wyrazili wolę przyjęcia święceń oraz podjęli posługę kościelną.
The dissertation shows the requirement of having adequate health as one of the essential qualities of the candidates for orders, the lack of which limits the admission to this sacrament. The subject of the research is the analysis of documents of Popes and dicasteries of the Roman Curia, concerning the sacrament of orders. This analysis has shown that there are still difficulties in assessing the qualification of candidates for ordination because of their physical and mental health. They result from certain inaccuracies or shortcomings regarding the subject discussed, as well as from the fact that the majority of statements made by the Holy See refer to candidates for the presbyterate. The conclusions from the research conducted are an attempt to thoroughly analyze and organize the criteria and standards concerning the health of candidates for ordination. Among the issues discussed in this doctoral dissertation there are those related to health problems listed in the documents dedicated to candidates for ordination and irregularities resulting from psychological reasons, self-mutilation and suicide attempt. It was also pointed out that candidates for ordination should display a clear adequate emotional maturity, so that they would be free and conscious in their intention to receive the sacrament of orders and undertake the ministry of the Church.
