Abstract
Within compass of recent years the occurrence of teenage pregnancy has been getting bigger (there are 50 thousand children born by teenage mothers yearly). This fact evokes social concern and is the subject of many-sided and multi-branched studies. One of them refers to the causes of teenage parenthood. Sociologizing theories point at “social construction of teenage pregnancy”, whereas psychological theories focus of searching for factors, which are conducive (favourable) to child conception, in the traits of emotional and cognitive functioning of a teenager, in equal aged persons’ relationships, in the bonds between a child and his father, and the family factors. Mentioned among them there are ones connected with the family structure and its functioning as well as with a kind of relations and ties between members of the family, and the ones resulting from parents’ personalities, their relation to own sex(uality) and experience received from (mother/parent) home. Here the problem of so-called social inheritance has been discussed. Psychoanalytical approach enumerates particularly rich interpretation of the causes of teenage pregnancy.
