Abstract
The present paper undertakes the problem of scientific and didactic development of the academic teacher and evaluation of their scientific output in the context of professional promotion. On the one hand, it is an attempt to outline the tasks of university education in the 21 c., whereas on the other it tries to search for the new forms of education and development of research workers of universities. Generally, the reflection on the problem posed allows to assume that a good system of professional promotion of a research-didactic worker is the one which optimally favours the development of their scientific competences through the participation in different kinds of projects, meetings, conferences and international exchange, inspiring them for personal reflections and investigation as well as to the improvement of their scientific and didactic competences with simultaneous enrichment of their personality with the values necessary to reach the professional (scientific) mastery. The perspective of professional promotion in the modern system of university education should become the key to the creative and dynamic cultivation of science, to the broadening of the horizons of knowledge and to a fruitful educational dialogue.
