Abstract
Kazimierz Kummer made his first attempts at journalism already during the final year of high school. Subsequently, he chose journalism as his profession after graduating from university and returning to his homeland. Kummer’s prose reflects the experiences of a press and radio journalist. These reflections, visible in such works as The Bali (Bal), The Mother (Mateczka), The Grim Painter (Ponury malarz), The Old Actor (Stary aktor), The Dunes (Wydmy), The King of a Dead Sky (Król martwego nieba), A Piece from a True Life (Kawałek z prawdziwego życia), Tiny Moments of Emotions (Maleńkie chwile wzruszeń), or A Hole of a Town (Grajdoły), are the main topic of the article. Not only does Kummer disclose the behind-the-scenes of journalism, but he also reveals both the reality and the ethical implications of working with another human being.
