Abstract
The direction of renewal of the entire pastoral care of the family, which is to strengthen the pastoral care for families in the parish, first requires recognition of the parish as its subject, and, consequently, it's reaching out to families and undertaking pastoral tasks associated with this. Setting this as a priority can create conditions for strengthening the pastoral care of families in the parish. Favorable conditions include the acceptance of the renewed evangelization-communion concept of pastoral work by pastors and laity, a deepened understanding of pastoral ministry as the discovering of an identity, as well as applying in pastoral ministry the fundamental principle of love and mercy. Then the parish will create a family climate that will encourage families to discover their identity and realize their role in the pastoral care of families. By involving spouses in the pastoral care of families in the parish, its strengthening will be based on solid, durable and long-lasting foundations, and – trusting St. John Paul II – will bear abundant evangelization fruit.
