Abstract
Wynika to z racji postawienia zagadnienia wychowania do odpowiedzialności w centrum problemów rozprawy na tle negatywnych skutków współczesnych przemian społecznych i kulturowych. W praktyce pedagogicznej daję ona podstawy do organizacji procesu wychowania w sposób odpowiadający możliwościom i potrzebom rozwojowym dzieci i młodzieży. Do realizacji wolnych, a zarazem odpowiedzialnych decyzji i czynów, konieczny jest wewnętrzny rozwój człowieka w którym należy uwzględnić rozwijanie dojrzałej wrażliwości moralnej i kształtowanie prawego sumienia. Chodzi bowiem o to, aby wychowanek poznając i rozumiejąc coraz bardziej samego siebie, coraz dojrzalej kochał siebie i innych i aby osiągnął życiową mądrość. Wychowanie do odpowiedzialności, rozumiane w duchu pedagogiki realistycznej, to celowe nawiązywanie relacji z prawdą i dobrem mające integralny charakter, a w konsekwencji obejmujące całego człowieka. Dysertacja w Cz. I odsłoniła odpowiedzialność jako wartość zagrożoną i problem edukacyjny. Ukazała rozumienie istoty, zakresu i granic odpowiedzialności. Spośród licznych systemów przeanalizowano wychowanie do odpowiedzialności w systemie jezuickim i systemie prewencyjnym św. Jana Bosko. Mając na uwadze programy opracowano wychowanie do odpowiedzialności w pedagogii założyciela światowego skautingu Roberta Baden-Powella, wychowanie do odpowiedzialnej wolności według założyciela międzynarodowego Ruchu (CL) Komunia i Wyzwolenie, - ks. Luigiego Giussaniego. W ostatnim paragrafie tegoż rozdziału odpowiedzialność ukazana została w programie powołanej do istnienia 35 lat temu w Lublinie Akademii Młodzieżowej Fundacji Szczęśliwe Dzieciństwo. W Cz.
To take up the issue of upbringing in the light of the educational theory and practice, I was encouraged, among other things, to promote, now more than ever, the ideal of a responsible person, taking into consider a lack of real responsibility of specific people and the deteriorating condition of a global society, school, family or state. Analyzes that have been undertaken in the dissertation aim to include a narrow aspect of the issues of upbringing towards responsibility in a broader range of research in the field of integrally understood theory of education, general pedagogy, Christian and social as well as personalistic philosophy and pedagogical ethics. It is due to the issue of bringing responsibility to the center of the problems of the dissertation against the background of the negative effects of contemporary social and cultural changes. There is no doubt that the reminder of the legacy of theoretical premises as well as practical solutions regarding responsibility and showing its place in the upbringing of a modern man is an important and necessary matter. Pointing to responsibility as one of the basic dimensions that describes a human being and decides its special position in the existing world, and at the same time shows it as an educational value and the bond connecting a pupil and a pedagogue ordered the author of the dissertation, without escaping from the present day, to return to the tradition of Christian education and classical education. The theory and practice of integral pedagogy based on a comprehensive and realistic understanding of the pupils, which means taking into account their capabilities, as well as their internal limitations and external threats, has been made the space of upbringing towards responsibility. It was assumed that each upbringing is guided by a specific human concept, on which this very and no other education theory is consistently built. In pedagogical practice, it provides the basis for organizing the process of upbringing in a way that suits the opportunities and developmental needs of children and youth. The appropriate philosophical, psychological, pedagogical, biomedical, historical, cultural and theological knowledge is helpful and useful here. It was also assumed that the realization of human responsibility connected with the developmental phase of the individual, its freedom, dignity and morality is effected by a specific cooperation of reason, which task is to recognize the specific beings-goods and will, which, in relation to the presented goods, makes an act of wanting-choice for one of them. It was also assumed that due to the specificity of acts of freedom, responsibility is a certain potential that is subject to development through human, Christian, doctrinal and theological and didactic-methodical formation. This development consists in perfecting cognitive activities and practicing the will by eliminating defects and multiplying virtues that facilitate its making the right choices. Because of the dependencies presented, responsibility in itself, like freedom, is defined as a gift, but also a task. For the realization of free and at the same time responsible decisions and deeds, the inner human development in which the development of mature moral sensitivity and shaping the right conscience must be taken into account, is necessary. On the other hand, only on the basis of free decisions, this development can be carried out in an authentic way, that is, based on the truth about good and its implementation. However, due to human weakness and the presence of an element of transience in people, and a certain helplessness - especially in the first period of life, for this development to come into existence, a human being needs help in the form of education. The understanding of upbringing towards responsibility, due to a close connection with the understanding of a human being itself, changes in time with the emergence of various currents of thought and ideologies. The theory emphasizes different aspects of upbringing, sometimes emphasizes its meaning, and sometimes completely distorts or devalues it. Among the numerous ways of its understanding, an interesting proposal of a universal nature turned out to be the proposal to bring up towards responsibility on the basis of integral pedagogy inspired by Christianity. Its universal character results from the fact that it was built on the tradition of philosophical realism, and thanks to this it avoids reductionism in the understanding of a human, and at the same time does not impose ready-made solutions. Integral pedagogy is based on the recognition of the personal dignity, freedom and potential character of a person’s nature. For this reason, one of its basic postulates is to implement a responsible freedom in a pupil. The point is for the pupil to get to know and understand himself more and more, love himself and others in a more mature way and achieve life wisdom. The integrity of upbringing, the part of which is the responsibility we are involved in, includes physical, health, intellectual, social, patriotic, family education, education in the culture of the region, aesthetic, moral and axiological education, not excluding religious education or education towards work. To realize it, the widest knowledge of what is specific and characteristic of human nature and individual developmental stages, as well as what to do when development does not proceed in a harmonious way, which clearly defines specific tasks of parental and social responsibility, is needed. Upbringing towards responsibility, understood in the spirit of realistic pedagogy, is the intentional establishment of relationships with the truth and the good that are integral in character and consequently involve the whole person. Therefore, it was recognized that in the integral upbringing of a child, aiming at the full development of its personality, one cannot give up on the intellectual and moral-social axiological formation, as well as shaping the character or teaching moral skills. In integral pedagogy and Christian education, one cannot cut himself off from philosophical reflection, especially on a human being, its development and behavior. It is included implicite in the concept of education and its practice. The integral pedagogy implemented, whether in kindergarten or school, basing on the creation of an appropriate educational climate, points to the principles of upbringing, and for this reason is related to philosophical reflection, because philosophy is the science of principles (arche). It allows to outline a complete picture of the integral shaping of the child's abilities (potentiality), so that through upbringing and then self-upbringing it would become who it may be and who it should be. In the dissertation it was recognized that this fact deserves special attention due to the devaluation of the world of values in the era of postmodernism, which reduced the responsibility to its negative dimension, thus significantly narrowing the horizon of its development. Recognizing the negative effects of this phenomenon, which become quickly revealed in social life, it was assumed that upbringing towards responsibility seen in the light of Christianity-inspired theory and practice of integral pedagogy can be an adequate response to the situation. A significant problem here is a lack of a broader knowledge of the main assumptions of integral pedagogy and the pedagogical tradition associated with it. It seems that this dissertation at least partly fulfills this lack and inspires further research and exploration. Based on the analyzes made, it was assumed that every person, regardless of their skin color, social origin or religion, is invited to take responsibility for the shape of their own humanity. The aim of the dissertation was to show the fundamental aspects of upbringing towards responsibility in the theory and practice of integral pedagogy. Part I of the dissertation revealed responsibility as a value at risk and an educational problem. It showed the understanding of the nature, scope and limits of responsibility. It approached selected contexts of a lack of concern for upbringing towards responsibility and allowed us, while going towards the systematization of concepts, to look at the basics of upbringing towards responsibility, inherent in human education and the reasons for undertaking pedagogical activity, dignity, freedom and duties as seen in the category of the foundations of upbringing, as well as its connection with moral education and self-upbringing. Part II was devoted to the formation of upbringing towards responsibility in various contexts of reflection on a human being. In Chapter 1 this context was the selected concepts of Christian education seen through the prism of ethical and philosophical reflection of Father Jacek Woroniecki, upbringing towards the social responsibility of Stefan Kunowski, specificity of upbringing in the thoughts of Karol Wojtyła - John Paul II, Benedict XVI as well as Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio - Pope Francis. In Chapter 2 of this part of the dissertation, upbringing towards responsibility was shown in the selected systems and programs of integral upbringing. From among numerous systems, upbringing towards responsibility in the Jesuit system and the preventive system of St. Jan Bosko were analyzed. Bearing in mind the programs, a responsible education in the pedagogy of the founder of the world scouting Robert Baden-Powell, and upbringing towards responsible freedom according to the founder of the international Movement of Communion and Liberation (CL), - Fr. Luigi Giussani, were created. In the last paragraph of the same chapter the responsibility was shown in the program of the Youth Academy of the Happy Childhood Foundation established 35 years ago in Lublin. In Part III, which is devoted to the entities and environments upbringing towards responsibility, bearing in mind the effectiveness of educational activities, the institutional and non-institutional educational environments were pointed out, appreciating the role of not only the upbrought themselves, but also the family, state, school, Church, informal reference groups, voluntary work or social media. In Chapter 2 of the same part, bearing in mind the upbringing towards responsibility as a challenge for the upbringing and the upbrought in the accepted ordering key, such issues as: respecting responsibility as an existential category of human life, a knowledge of ethical needs and factors conditioning the occurrence and development of a sense of responsibility, promoting and hierarchizing human desires and aspirations as well as the permanent formation and cooperation of all the pedagogues were found. Although the analyzes and reflections made do not exhaust the subject taken, which turned out to be complicated in many ways, thus impossible to comprehensively develop and properly exploit, they nevertheless authorized the formulation of numerous remarks and conclusions of both theoretical and practical nature.
