Abstract
Książka nosi tytuł Potrzeba, aby On wzrastał. Osoba i posługa kapłana katolickiego w świetle współczesnych wyzwań duszpasterskich w Polsce. Jest to teologiczno-pastoralne studium poświęcone posłudze kapłańskiej w obecnych realiach naszego kraju. Opiera się ono przede wszystkim na tekstach źródłowych, jakimi są słowa Pisma Świętego, Katechizm Kościoła, orzeczenia Soboru Watykańskiego II oraz nauczanie papieży. Nie zabrakło także odniesień do opracowań oraz literatury pomocniczej, obejmującej przede wszystkim publikacje dotyczące formacji seminaryjnej i kapłańskiej. Do tego dochodzą pewne praktyczne przykłady wzięte z posługi formatora i rekolekcjonisty. Myślą przewodnią książki jest idea porównania posługi i warunków pracy duszpasterskiej współczesnego, polskiego kapłana do osoby i działalności św. Jana Chrzciciela. Praca zawiera kolejno pewne typy problemów, z jakimi przychodzi mierzyć się współczesnemu kapłanowi, a wśród nich na czoło wysuwają się kryzysy wiary, włącznie z próbami uchronienia się przed nimi. Następnie przychodzi kolej na analizę postmodernizmu i ateizmu, jako dwóch prądów myślowych współcześnie utrudniających posługę kapłana. W dalszej kolejności następuje zarys wciąż aktualnej duchowości kapłana opartej na radach ewangelicznych obecnych w życiu i posłudze św. Jana Chrzciciela. Potem przychodzi kolej na wskazania dotyczące pracy duszpasterskiej z ludźmi o różnego rodzaju nastawieniu względem wiary religijnej poparte przykładami z życia poprzednika Chrystusa. Wreszcie w ostatnim rozdziale omówione są możliwości współpracy człowieka sprawującego posługę kapłańską z Łaską Bożą, która bazuje na naturze.
This book is entitled He must increase. Personality and Pastoral Service of Catholic Priest towards Contemporary Pastoral Appeals in Poland [Potrzeba, aby On wzrastał. Osoba i posługa kapłana katolickiego w świetle współczesnych wyzwań duszpasterskich w Polsce]. It is a pastoral-theological study dedicated to priestly pastoral service in our country's current situation. This study is based on The Words of the Holy Scripture, Catechism of the Catholic Church, teaching of the Second Vatican Council and teaching of Popes, with referring to other books and texts, especially those concerning the spiritual formation of the priests and of the seminarians. I added also some practical experiences of director of formation and from retreats for priests. The main idea of this book is a comparison of pastoral service of Polish priests and conditions for their spiritual work to the ones of St. John the Baptist. The book contains (in order of appearance) some types of problem that contemporary priest has to deal with and some crisis of faith are number one among them, including some ways of protection against losing one's faith. Then I went through an analysis of philosophical postmodernism and atheism. Then I tried to describe priests' spirituality that is still actual and that is founded on the obedience, the poverty and the chastity. They all were present in St. John the Baptist's life and work. Then I wanted to find some advises helping with pastoral and spiritual work with the people of different faith and attitude towards Catholic religion. They were also found in St. John's acts and preaching. Finally in the last chapter I discussed the ways and possibilities of cooperation of priest, who is a human being with God's Grace which in turn is based on the nature.
