Abstract
Chronologia pracy obejmuje okres od utworzenia w październiku 1918 r. Straży Gospodarczo-Wojskowej, do powstania Korpusu Ochrony Pogranicza w 1924 r. Rozdział pierwszy pokazuje proces formułowania się definicji granicy i innych terminów związanych z tym pojęciem, przechodząc następnie do opisu procesu kształtowania się granic II RP w latach 1918-1924, a także analizy geograficzno-strategicznej charakterystyki granic państwowych i pojawiających się trudności związanych z ich zabezpieczeniem. Sukcesywnie w rozdziale drugim przedstawiono problematykę organizacji formacji granicznych w 1918 r. Ukazano okoliczności powołania pierwszej w niepodległej w Polsce takiej formacji - SGW oraz utworzenia KSS i SG z lat 1918-1919. Analogicznie w rozdziale trzcim przedstawiono problematykę organizacji formacji granicznych w niezwykle trudnym okresie walk o ostateczny kształt granic Rzeczypospolitej. Zwrócono uwagę na poszczególne etapy kształtowania ochrony granic, opisując formacje z lat 1919-1921. Rozdział czwarty prezentuje organizację systemu ochrony po traktacie ryskim, a więc w latach 1921-1924. Rozdział piąty porusza kwestię próby stabilizacji sytuacji na granicy wschodniej, a więc obejmuje problematykę organizacji KOP przeznaczonego do ochrony. Istotnym problemem poruszonym w tej części pracy jest kwestia przyczyn przyjęcia osobnego systemu ochrony granicy wschodniej. Treścią ostatniego, szóstego rozdziału jest prezentacja udziału i znaczenia poszczególnych formacji granicznych w systemie bezpieczeństwa państwa.
The chronology of work covers the period from the creation of the Economic and Military Guards in October 1918 to the participation of Border Protection Corps in 1924. The first chapter shows the process of formulating a definition of a border and other terms related to this concept moving on to a description of the complicated process of shaping the borders of the Second Republic of Poland in the years 1918-1924, as well as the geographic and strategic analysis of the state borders characteristics and emerging difficulties related to their protection. Successively, the second chapter covers the issues of organization of border formations in 1918. The circumstances of the establishment of the first such formation in independent Poland, SGW, as well as the establishment of KSS and SG in 1918-1919., are presented. Similarly, the third chapter discusses the problem of the organization of border formations in the extremely difficult period of fighting for the final shape of the Republic of Poland borders. Attention is drawn to the various stages of border protection, describing the formations from 1919-1924. Chapter four presents the organisation of the protection system after the Riga Treaty in the years 1921-1924. Chapter five addresses the issue of an attempt to stabilise the situation on the eastern border, and therefore it includes the issue of the KOP organisation which was intended for its protection. The content of the last, sixth chapter is a presentation of the participation and significance of individual border formations in the national security system.
