Prowadzą one do marginalizacji osób niepełnosprawnych.
- ItemAmbroży o starości w swoich listach(Wydawnictwo KUL, 2011) Wysocki, MarcinThe correspondence of St Ambrose, of which 91 letters survive, provides a picture of his pastoral and social activities. His letters were directed to people of differing ages and classes; in some of them one can find his views on ageing, its features and dangers and how the old should be cared for. The period of old age is, according to the Bishop of Milan, the period of becoming a perfect men. Ambrose considered that with advancing age man grows towards perfection and maturity in the human sense, but more importantly in the moral and religious sense. He taught that everyone must try to improve themselves gradually throughout life by conversion and repentance, achieving maturity and perfection by the time of death.

- ItemAntiochia Syryjska jako ośrodek ascezy i monastycyzmu w drugiej połowie IV w.(Wydawnictwo KUL, 2018) Szczur, PiotrThe article presents a particular phase in the evolution of Christian asceticism, as exemplified by the monastic-ascetic milieu of Syrian Antioch. The writings of John Chrysostom, Theodoret of Cyprus and Libanius, which all refer to ascetic and monastic life in Antioch and its environs in the second half of the fourth century, are examined. These analyses allow us to identify three types among Antiochian ascetics. First group described included lay inhabitants of Antioch, both male and female, who endeavored to conduct a deeper spiritual life; this group included also persons practicing syneisaktism – a specific mode of ascetic life in which female virgins consecrated to God lived together with men (especially clergy) practicing ascesis. The second group consisted of rustic ascetics, to wit both lay and clergy inhabitants of villages around Antioch who conduced an ascetic lifestyle. The third group were those ascetics who observed monastic (or semi-monastic) life in the Antiochian mountains, especially on Mount Silpios. Monks were held in considerably high esteem, enjoying great respect among the inhabitants of Antioch. This resulted in their occasionally ignoring the rules of detachment from the world and of solitary life, as they entertained visitors or guests and – for serious reasons (e.g. during the trial of inhabitants of Antioch following the tax rebellion in 387) – visited the city. Our analysis thus depicts Antioch and its vicinity as a center of ascetic and monastic life. The clear-cut conclusion that emerges is that pre-monastic and monastic forms of ascetic life both existed in Antioch in the second half of the fourth century.

- ItemBiblia i nadzieja na jej dobre tłumaczenie(Wydawnictwo KUL, 2018) Wysocki, MarcinIn the above article, based on the correspondence of St. Jerome and St. Augustine, there has been shown how these two outstanding the Bible experts, translators and interpreters understood the principles used in its translation. In three parts – entitled: Work, Man, Way – the importance and significance of the Bible and its translations, above all the Septuagint, the tasks and features of the man who translates, the methods and ways of translating were shown. Both of them in their letters indicated: the necessity of an exceptional and proper approach to the Holy Scriptures, a good preparation of the translator and the use of a method that would be appropriate to the translated piece: in the case of the Bible – a beautiful translation preserving the arrangement of the words of the inspired Scriptures; and in the case of non-canonical pieces – expressing the thoughts using the rules of the language into which the work is translated.

The restoration of Polish statehood required a great effort from the au thorities and inhabitants of the country. The Church in now independent Poland was faced with a variety of religious practices, the situation which had arisen due to the period of national slavery. Prayers, liturgical and para-liturgical rituals, holidays and days of fasting had to be unified. (Augustyn, Ep. 78, 3). Męczeństwo jako rys duchowości Afryki Północnej(Wydawnictwo KUL, 2019) Wysocki, MarcinCertainly one of the greatest phenomena of Christianity are the masses of martyrs who gave and still give their lives for Christ. In particular, martyrdom’s spirituality was characteristic of the first centuries of Christianity, and Roman Africa was undoubtedly the region that exceled in the number of martyrs, in the number of known acts of martyrdom and encouragements for martyrdom. In this article, based on existing ancient testimonies from the writings of Tertullian, Cyprian, the acts of the martyrs, Augustine, Arnobius and Lactantius, martyrdom is shown as one of the main features of North African spirituality.
- ItemDlaczego w relacji Mateusza (21,1-11) Jezus wjeżdżał do Jerozolimy na dwóch osłach? Część 1: Referent drugiego zaimka αὐτῶν w Mt 21,7(2018) Kubiś, AdamThe article deals with one of the problematic issues found in the Matthean entry narrative (21:1-11), namely identifying the appropriate referent for the second pronoun αὐτῶν in Mt 21:7. First, a few textual emendations to the original Greek text are discussed, since the solution to the above problem has sometimes been sought in the discovery of a truly original text, free of this interpretative difficulty. Second, the grammatical and rhetorical explanations of the issue are elucidated. Third, the article presents and evaluates arguments for identifying the proper referent of αὐτῶν, whether in the vestments or in the two animals. In the author’s opinion, the most convincing solution to the problem lies in identifying the referent of the ambiguous pronoun as the two animals.

- ItemDziecięctwo a niemowlęctwo duchowe.
