Palimpsest pamięci. O symbolice przestrzeni w „Vielleicht Esther” Katji Petrowskiej

Abstract

The article explores the symbolic potential of space created by Katja Petrowskaja in her family tale Vielleicht Esther. Literary space is understood here not only as the places visited or recalled by the narrator but also - in the context of the spatial turn in the humanities, emphasising the culture-making role of topography - as a communicative act. In each area, the literary space turns out to be multi-layered, creating a polysemic palimpsest of memory.
