dc.description.abstract	The main purpose of this article is to show the essence of biological threats and to draw attention to and point out the importance of education in this area for the formation of the security environment. The purpose is also to show that at the moment the use of the biological agent in terrorist attacks is a real threat to state security. The article uses an analytical and descriptive method using available domestic and foreign sources and statistical data, which made it possible to identify areas in need of change and propose solutions for improving the functioning of society in the area of biosecurity, pointing to multi-sectoral cooperation and education. Głównym celem artykułu jest ukazanie istoty zagrożeń biologicznych oraz zwrócenie uwagi na ważność edukacji w tym zakresie dla kształtowania środowiska bezpieczeństwa. Obecnie wykorzystanie czynnika biologicznego w atakach terrorystycznych stanowi realne zagrożenie dla bezpieczeństwa państwa. W artykule zastosowano metodę analityczno-opisową, wykorzystując dostępne źródła krajowe i zagraniczne oraz dane statystyczne, co umożliwiło wytypowanie obszarów wymagających zmian i przedstawienie propozycji rozwiązań dla usprawnienia funkcjonowania społeczeństwa w obszarze bezpieczeństwa biologicznego, wskazując na wielosektorową współpracę oraz edukację.
