Abstract
While studying life and activities of an eminent teacher, one searches for key ideas, guidelines, concepts which specify and conclude the entire picture of educational conceptions. The Reverend John Bosco, one of the most eminent practitioners of upbringing in the 19th century, on the basis of his life experience and the principle of love which was supported by the foundation of reason and religion, realised that the system of integrative upbringing should be created. As a result of which, a young person got the support concerning physical, social and spiritual development. John Bosco was convinced that the right spirituality on the basis of Catholic faith as an internal pedagogic principle, which reflects on the content, forms and means of education and upbringing, is a condition to be effective as an educator. According to his preventive system, the spirituality which he followed, was expressed by his care for poor and lost people who he wanted to provide with "bread and heaven". Actually, the spirituality of the great educator from Turin is worth exploring. His conceptions of upbringing can be neither understood nor stated without the correspondence to his spiritual and religions life. These days the spirituality of the Reverend John Bosco filled with Christian human love may also be an inspiration for many educators who simultaneously want to develop their spiritual life and be guided by the principle of goodness, kindliness as well as total acceptance and trust in the human-being.
