Abstract
The authors take up an issue which is very important from the point of view of formation and is at present vividly discussed in the country. This is in relation with the instruction of the Minister of Education published in 1993. This instruction obliged teachers to include within their curricula the knowledge about the sexual life of man, the principal of conscious planning of parenthood, the value of family, the value of conceived life, as well as methods and means of conscious procreation. The authors seek to answer the question about the knowledge and understanding of this instruction, and what teachers thinks about its contents in primary and secondary schools. In keeping with this, the authors prepared their own questionnaire and examined 201 teachers from various schools and villages. The empirical part of the paper constitutes a particular discussion of the findings: assessment of the Ministry of Education instruction, sense of competence among the teachers as to its realization, the manner of realization (sexual education, sexual formation, profamily education, profamily formation), needs to educate teachers, forms and contents of how teachers may extend their knowledge and skills necessary for their work in this field. The influence of some various has also been examined, such as age, sex, the subjects, the place of work and residence, level and profile of education and formation.
