Abstract
Artykuł poświęcony jest czterem obiektom podworskim leżącym w obrębie miasta Lublina i będącym obecnie w posiadaniu lubelskich uczelni. Nieliczna grupa wybranych obiektów prezentuje różnorodność funkcji do jakiej zostały przystosowane. W artykule przedstawiono pokrótce historię każdego z dworskich założeń, koncentrując się przede wszystkim na ich losach współczesnych i przekształceniach związanych z przystosowaniem do nowej funkcji. Materiały stanowiące podstawę niniejszego opracowania pochodzą ze zbiorów Wojewódzkiego Urzędu Ochrony Zabytków, Państwowego Archiwum w Lublinie oraz działów administracyjnych poszczególnych uczelni gromadzących dokumentację związaną zarówno z historią jak i bieżącymi modernizacjami i adaptacjami obiektów.
The article is dedicated to the four manor houses situated within the city of Lublin and resided by the local universities. It presents both their history and the way of adaptation to the functions resulting from a variety of academic needs, teetering between conservation and adjustment. A small number of selected objects shows the diversity of adaptation methods and multilevel degree of transformation of historical objects. We are dealing here both with the renovation along with the minor adaptive transformations of the external form and changes to the interior, as well as with the demolition, caused by the technical condition of the buildings, combined with the reconstruction or the construction of a new facility referring only to the form and style of the historic building. Adapted to the new function, the manor houses discussed in this paper together with the surrounding, partly preserved, green areas are a relic of historical Lublin suburban areas. Their architectural and rooted in history qualities constitute an added value to the world of contemporary university space. Furthermore, the new destination ensures the buildings their material survival.
