Abstract
Wspólnoty Wiara i Światło w Polsce od 1977 roku uczestniczą w życiu rodzin osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną, są obecne w parafiach i kształtują osoby, które chcą w nich pomagać. Nie zatrzymują się tylko na poprawie warunków ich życia materialnego, ale kierują do najgłębszych źródeł integralnego rozwoju człowieka. Publikacja ukazuje teorię i praktykę interdyscyplinarnego i wspólnotowego działania na rzecz integralnego rozwoju i wychowania osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną. Przybliża historię Wspólnoty Wiara i Światło w świecie i w Polsce, realizację jej założeń, we wzajemnym włączeniu i obdarowaniu osób, zgodnie z myślą pedagogiczną Jeana Vaniera. Jubileusz 25-lecia Wspólnoty Wiara i Światło w Bochni pozwolił sięgnąć do początku jej powstania, którym było pragnienie doświadczenia miłości i akceptacji przez osoby z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną, wyjście rodziców ze swoistego ukrycia i potrzeba wspólnoty. Na tym tle przedstawiony został obraz Wspólnoty Wiara i Światło w Bochni, widziany oczyma jej kapelanów i rodziców, wolontariuszy i przyjaciół. Refleksje zawarte w ich świadectwach stanowią integralną część publikacji, gdyż w nich odnajdujemy potwierdzenie tez i zagadnień naukowych opracowań w życiu i praktyce konkretnej Wspólnoty.
The Communities of Faith and Light have constantly participated in the lives of families with children with intellectual disabilities since 1977. They are active in parishes and they educate and train people who want to help the disabled. They do not confine themselves to improving the conditions of the material life, but direct the disabled towards the deepest sources of integral human development. This publication presents the theory and practice of interdisciplinary and community action in favour of the integral development and education of people with intellectual disabilities. It sheds light on the history of the Community of Faith and Light in the world and in Poland, on how its essential principles and objectives have been pursued, and on the mutual inclusion and bestowal of persons, in line with Jean Vanier's pedagogical thought. The 25th anniversary of the Community of Faith and Light in Bochnia offered an opportunity to reach back to its origins and its major inspirations: a desire to make people with intellectual disabilities experience love and acceptance, a wish to help their parents overcome marginalization and an attempt to make all these persons realize their need for community life. Against this background, the image of the Community of Faith and Light in Bochnia is presented, seen through the eyes of the community chaplains and parents, volunteers and friends. The reflections contained in their testimonies are an integral part of the publication, because they bring evidence of the life and practice of a particular Community and corroborate the related research assumptions and conclusions.
