- ItemInclusion of Transcendence and Literal Interpretation on Perceived Stability of Marriage in Polish Spouses. Study Data(2022) Zarzycka, Beata; Tomaka, Kamil; Mahoney, Annette; Rybarski, RadosławRaw data from the study. The purpose of this cross-sectional study with 470 Polish married (67%) or cohabiting (33%) individuals (237 women and 233 men) was to examine whether and how two dimensions of individual religiousness (Inclusion vs. Exclusion of Transcendence (IT) and Symbolic vs. Literal Interpretation (SI)) as assessed by the Post-Critical Beliefs Scale were associated with the perceived stability of marriage (Marriage Stability Scale). As expected, greater affirmation of God’s existence as real (i.e., higher Inclusion of Transcendence) and greater literal interpretation of religious doctrines (i.e., lower Symbolic Interpretation) were associated with greater perceived stability of marriage. The former association was also mediated in expected directions by the greater sanctification of marriage; this mediation pathway was moderated by the dimension of symbolic and literal interpretation such that the mediation pathway from the IT to sanctification to marital stability was markedly stronger for those with more literal views of religious doctrine.
- ItemLinks between types of value orientations and consumer behaviours. An empirical study(2021)The present study concerns the relation of value orientations and consumer behaviours. Although the idea of connections between both areas is not new, the article contributes to the knowledge about relations between specific consumer behaviours and social value orientations. Using the obtained data, we examine to what extent the prosocial, reciprocal, and egoistic value orientations coexist with compensative, compulsive, and demonstrative buying. The analysis confirms the hypotheses that representatives of the reciprocal and egoistic orientations show susceptibility to compensative and compulsive buying to a greater extent than persons preferring other value orientations. In addition, the data show co-dependence of the reciprocal value orientation and demonstrative buying, while the prosocial value orientation seems to protect against compulsive buying. According to the regression analysis, this effect disappears if prosocials suffer from low self-esteem at the same time being characterised by strong materialism. All hypothesised relations between value orientations and consumer behaviours have been analysed in multidimensional models considering materialism, self-esteem, age, gender as the main factors of compensative and compulsive buying. The findings come from the 2017 survey based on a sample of 1,121 adults. The German Compulsive Buying Indicator and Lange’s Scale of Demonstrative Buying were introduced to measure consumer behaviours.
- ItemPolish Version of the Sensory Experiences Questionnaire 3.0 - data base(2023) Krzysztofik, KarolinaThe presented study was conducted in a group of 208 children with a diagnosis of ASD aged between 3 years and 6 years 11 months, with a view to validating the four-factorial structure of the Polish version of the Sensory Experiences Questionnaire – 3.0 (SEQ-3.0). The following questionnaires completed by children’s parents/caregivers were used: the Polish version of the Sensory Experiences Questionnaire – 3.0 (SEQ-3.0), the Child Behaviour Questionnaire – Very Short Form (CBQ-VSF), and a version of EAS Questionnaire for children (EAS-C). The results obtained confirmed the four-factorial structure of the Polish version of SEQ-3.0: Hyperresponsiveness (HYPER), Hyporesponsiveness (HYPO), Sensory Interests, Repetitions and Seeking Behavior (SIRS), and Enhanced Perception (EP). Not all the items of the EP factor were found to have satisfactory loadings. Inferences about its presence in the structure of the Polish version of SEQ-3.0 should therefore be drawn with caution. All factors correlate with the temperamental traits of the children in the analyzed sample. The results suggest that in a group of children with ASD aged between 3 years and 6 years 11 months, the EP factor might not become manifest. It is therefore advisable that future studies be conducted with separate analyses for age subgroups: one among children aged between 2 and 6 years and another one among children aged between 7 and 12 years.

- ItemSocial Comparison Orientation, Problematic Facebook Use, and Deconversion in Adolescents: Mediating Role of Self-Consciousness(2022-05-16) Zarzycka, Beata; Razmus, Wiktor; Krok, DariuszAdolescence is a time of biological, psychological, and social changes, which make youth inclined to undergo religious/spiritual (r/s) transformations. Deconverting, which is going from being religious to leaving religion, is an instance of religious transformation as much as turning toward religion. In Poland, since 1996, the number of adolescents involved in religion has been systematically decreasing. This study aimed to analyze how social factors, namely social comparison orientation and problematic Facebook use, affect deconversion processes in adolescents. The authors hypothesized that self-consciousness can help explain the mechanism of these relationships. In total, 550 respondents aged between 14 and 18 (M = 16.32, SD = 1.22) participated in the research. The Adolescent Deconversion Scale, Social Comparison Survey, Self-Consciousness Scale, and Problematic Facebook Use Scale were used. The results confirmed private self-consciousness as a mediator in the relationships between social comparison orientation and problematic Facebook use with deconversion processes in adolescents.
