Zu seinen Befürwortern gehörten u.a. F. Guizot, G. P. de Barante, A. Thierry, J. Michelet, F. Arago und L. Courajod. Dagegen traten als Gegner u.a. A. Quatremčre de Quincy, F. Chateaubriand, L. P. Deseine und E. Viollet-le-Duc in Erscheinung.

- ItemBudowa kaplicy pw. św. Leonarda w Szczebrzeszynie w świetle źródeł archiwalnych - przyczynek do mecenatu Hrabiego Maurycego Zamoyskiego(Wydawnictwo KUL, 2017) Bartko-Malinowska, AnnaIn the cemetery in the town of Szczebrzeszyn, there is a chapel dating from 1907-1908, founded by Count Maurycy Zamoyski, the 15th lord of the Zamoyski Family Fee Tail. This chapel has a long tradition based on the legend about its origins. The present building is the third one standing here, the previous wooden one, from the beginning of the 19th century, was completely destroyed. During the pastoral visit of Bishop Jaczewski in Szczebrzeszyn in 1905, Maurycy Zamoyski promised to rebuild the chapel and to finance the project in its entirety. This was a unique situation because it was rare for any fee tail to cover the cost of the construction of a church. Only materials were usually provided and the aid did not exceed 10% of the collator’s donation. In 1907, Alfons Helbich, the builder of the Fee Tail, started the construction of the chapel designed in Neo-Gothic style; the works were delayed by the government which was reluctant to approve the plans and cost estimates. Therefore, it was necessary for the bishop of Lublin to intervene. The construction was supervised by Michał Kołodziejczyk, a bricklayer, familiar to the Administration of the Fee Tail because he was responsible for the construction of the church in Mokrelipie, also located in the Fee Tail. According to the agreement Kołodziejczyk signed with the Governor of the estate of Zwierzyniec, he was supposed to raise the walls and cover the roof by 1 November 1907, then to finish the chapel and put it into use by 1 June 1908. Kołodziejczyk fully adhered to the agreement, and on 28 November 1908, a protocol of transfer and receipt was signed, in which the chapel was handed over to Rev. Jan Grabarski, a parish priest of Szczebrzeszyn. This chapel is an expression of Count Maurycy Zamoyski’s generosity and his concern for sacred objects in his Fee Tail. This concern is also evidenced by other magnificent churches created during Maurycy’s rule.
- ItemCodzienność najmłodszych dzieci w polskim malarstwie religijnym 1400-1550(Wydawnictwo KUL, 2018) Gudowska, MartaArtykuł prezentuje środowisko, w jakim funkcjonowały dzieci od narodzenia do ok. 4 roku życia na wybranych przykładach rodzimego malarstwa: tablicowego, ściennego i iluminatorstwa. Tekst został podzielony na trzy części: Powijaki. Kołyski. Akcesoria; Karmienie niemowlęcia oraz Zabawki. Pierwsza omawia najpotrzebniejsze rzeczy do opieki nad noworodkiem i niemowlęciem. Dzięki źródłom ikonograficznym oraz ustaleniom historyków i archeologów tworzy spójną opowieść o funkcjonowaniu najmłodszych w późnym średniowieczu i u progu nowożytności. The article presents the environment in which children lived from their birth to about the age of four, illustrated with the selected examples of the native painting: panel painting, wall painting and illumination. The text is divided into three parts: Swaddling bands. Cradles. Accessories, Feeding infants and Toys. The first one discusses things necessary for looking after a newborn baby and an infant. This category includes, apart from swaddling bands and cradles mentioned above, tied-cloth ‘pacifiers’, sustentaculum and chamber pots. The second part analyses different methods of feeding such as breastfeeding and formula feeding. The last section, based on archeological discoveries, focuses on toys. Thanks to iconographic sources and findings presented by historians and archeologists, the author was able to present a coherent story about the life of the youngest in the late Middle Ages and at the dawn of the early modern period.
Omawiając zagadnienie uposażenia warto pamiętać o problemach związanych z wyodrębnieniem uposażenia plebańskiego i ściśle kościelnego.
- ItemDziałalność Ośrodka Badań nad Geografią Historyczną Kościoła w Polsce KUL(Wydawnictwo KUL, 2011) Mielnik, SławomirIn 2010 the University Senate decided to include the Institute for the Historical Geography of the Church in Poland, established in 1957 by prof. Jerzy Kłoczowski, in the structures of the Faculty of Humanities and changed its name into the Research Centre for the Historical Geography of the Church in Poland. Thanks to this decision, the Lublin centre, which has a few dozen years of tradition dating back to the most difficult times of the Polish People’s Republic, has the opportunity to continue the research on the history of Churches and religions in Poland. The article presents the outline of the Centre (Institute) activity, its achievements and the main research goals. The presentation of the Centre activity from a chronological perspective is an attempt to show the intricacy of the research issue and the development of the research into the historical lands of Poland from religious, social and demographical point of view. Presenting the most important achievements of workers and coworkers enabled to show the scope of research concerning territorial structures of major and minor Churches, male and female congregations, especially the activity of female congregations during the Second World War and in the Polish People’s Republic, social and demographic issues, and others. Showing the history and achievements of the Centre also serves as a reminder of the role it played and still plays in the research on the history of churches, religions, faiths in the former Republic of Poland and the East-Central Europe. The synthetic presentation of the problems connected with the historical geography and cartography of the Church is also an attempt to assess the possibilities of further development of the research on geography, and social and religious history in Poland.
