The main part of the work shows the results of studies carried out empirically about the correlation between machiavellism variable and the variable of interpersonal relations, making use of its subscales. The main conclusion, which was put forward after analyzing the results, is the existence of important relationships between machiavellism and interpersonal relations. The study also confirmed the hypotheses, which have been entered into the difference between men and women of various interpersonal relationships subscale results. Additionally, machiavellism rate spikes proved to have significant impact on the quality and range of social contacts – at higher machiavellism dominant negative interpersonal relationships.
- ItemWork of a paramedic during the pandemic COVID-19 in Polish Radio reports(Wydawnictwo Academicon, 2022) Wójciszyn-Wasil, AnetaThe article presents the work of paramedics during the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland documented in Polish Radio reports. The recorded accounts of rescuers show the working conditions in a situation of personal threat to health and life, and at the same time a non-standard challenge for the health care system. The reports also contain numerous comments on the public perception of the paramedic’s work during the pandemic. The protagonists refer to manifestations of aggression and lack of support which they experience in their environment. The broadcasts constitute one of the important aspects of the media discourse on the pandemic and the functioning of health services in Poland. Artykuł przedstawia obraz pracy ratowników medycznych podczas pandemii COVID-19 w Polsce udokumentowany w reportażach Polskiego Radia. Zarejestrowane relacje ratowników ukazują warunki pracy w sytuacji osobistego zagrożenia zdrowia i życia, a jednocześnie niestandardowego wyzwania dla systemu ochrony zdrowia. Reportaże zawierają również liczne komentarze dotyczące społecznego odbioru pracy ratownika medycznego w okresie pandemii. Bohaterowie referują przejawy agresji i braku wsparcia, których doświadczają w swoim otoczeniu. Omawiane audycje stanowią jeden z istotnych aspektów medialnego dyskursu o pandemii i funkcjonowania służby zdrowia w Polsce.
