dc.description.abstractThe aim of this article is to deepen the research thought on the work of Victorinus of Poetavium – his Commentary on the Apocalypse. First, a short biography of this first Latin commentator on the last book of the Holy Scripture is presented, followed by his writing, then his method of literal-allegorical exegesis and selected issues characteristic of Victorinus' theological thought: millenarianism, the role of the third Person of the Holy Trinity – of the Holy Spirit in the Apocalypse, understanding the Bible of the Old and New Testaments as a coherent whole of the Word of God, the faith of the Jews in relation to Jesus Christ, as well as the exegete's attitude to the Roman State. Excerpts from the Commentary on the Apocalypse were analysed, then the conclusions were collected, especially in the longer conclusion of the article. In addition to the text of Victorinus, reference has been made to other source texts, such as: Augustine of Hippo, Cassiodorus, Eusebius of Caesarea, Jerome of Stridon or Justin Martyr.pl
dc.description.abstractCelem artykułu jest pogłębienie myśli badawczej nad dziełem Wiktoryna z Poetavium – jego Komentarzem do Apokalipsy. Najpierw została przedstawiona krótka biografia tego pierwszego łacińskiego komentatora ostatniej księgi Pisma Świętego, jego twórczość pisarska, następnie jego metoda egzegezy literalno-alegorycznej oraz wybrane zagadnienia charakterystyczne dla teologicznej myśli Wiktoryna: millenaryzm, rolę Osoby Ducha Świętego w Apokalipsie, rozumienie Biblii Starego i Nowego Testamentu jako spójnej całości Słowa Bożego, wiarę Żydów w odniesieniu do Jezusa Chrystusa, a także stosunek egzegety do Państwa Rzymskiego. Zostały poddane analizie fragmenty Komentarza do Apokalipsy, następnie wnioski zebrano, zwłaszcza w dłuższym podsumowaniu artykułu. Oprócz tekstu Wiktoryna odniesiono się do innych tekstów źródłowych, m.in.: Augustyna z Hippony, Kasjodora, Euzebiusza z Cezarei, Hieronima ze Strydonu czy Justyna Męczennika.pl
