W nauczaniu Kościoła widać refleksję, że młodzież z jednej strony żyje w ciągłym poszukiwaniu nowych emocji, a z drugiej strony tradycyjnie wyraża silną potrzebę radykalizmu. Ma trudności w planowaniu przyszłości i oczekuje pełnej relacji z osobami znaczącymi. Pogłębiona refleksja Kościoła podkreśla, że duszpasterstwo młodzieży musi unikać prostych sloganów czy "happeningów", a skupić się na głoszeniu słowa Bożego i proponować rzetelną formację duchową.The article shows the characteristics of young people at the turn of the millennium and the new challenges set for pastoral care. The Church's teaching reflects that young people, on the one hand, live in constant search of new emotions and, on the other hand, traditionally express a strong need for radicalism. They have difficulties in planning for the future and expect a full relationship with significant others.
