The archives of the 'Nasza Przeszłość' Missionary Priests Publishing Institute contain the memoirs of Father Adolf Trusewicz, C.M., who served as a priest in Lithuania after World War II. The text provides a wealth of interesting information about the lives of Lithuanian Catholics, the complex socio-political and religious relations within the Soviet Union, the everyday problems faced by priests working in the difficult conditions of communist reality, their personal contacts, and their struggles with state officials. The author of the memoirs presented an objective picture of Polish communities in the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic. It is also interesting source of information about the Catholic Church in Lithuania, which was reviving in the 1990s, and the contacts between the Lithuanian clergy and Polish priests.
