Abstract
Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. Rozdział pierwszy omawia genezę, istotę i główne kierunki działalności Światowej Rady Kościołów. Początki światowego ruchu ekumenicznego i pierwsze etapy jego rozwoju, w znacznym stopniu wpłynęły na kierunek prowadzonej przez nią refleksji teologicznej i społecznej. W rozdziale przedstawione są najpierw początki ruchu ekumenicznego i jego pierwotne nurty i założenia. Następnie, na bazie podstawowych dokumentów Rady, jest naszkicowana jej istota. W dalszej kolejności zaprezentowane są cechy charakterystyczne działalności Rady oraz przejawy ewolucji tej działalności. Rozdział drugi przedstawia teologiczny wymiar godności i praw kobiet w ujęciu ŚRK. Jego punktem wyjścia jest biblijne świadectwo na temat godności kobiety analizowane w dokumentach Rady i wypowiedziach związanych z nią teologów i działaczy ekumenicznych. W następnej kolejności są wskazane teologiczne implikacje doktryny na temat równej godności mężczyzn i kobiet, jak również konsekwencje tej doktryny w strukturze i organizacji Rady i Kościołów członkowskich oraz w ich doktrynie i praktyce kościelnej. Rozdział trzeci zajmuje się zagadnieniem obrony i promocji godności i praw kobiet w obszarze społeczno-ekonomicznym. Badania wychodzą od prowadzonej przez ŚRK ekumenicznej analizy społeczno-ekonomicznej sytuacji kobiet we współczesnym świecie wraz z programami Rady będącymi odpowiedzią na przejawy dyskryminacji. Następnie omówione są główne problemy społeczne i ekonomiczne podnoszone przez Radę. Główne ustalenia zawarte w pracy są zaprezentowane w zakończeniu.
The work consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, the genesis, essence and main directions of the activities of the World Council of Churches are discussed. The beginnings of the world ecumenical movement and the first stages of its development, which led to the establishment of the Council in 1948, significantly influenced the direction of its theological and social reflection. The chapter first presents the beginnings of the ecumenical movement and its original trends and principles. Then, on the basis of the fundamental documents of the Council, the essence of the Council is outlined. Next, the characteristics of the Council’s activities and the evolution of these activities are presented. The second chapter deals with the theological dimension of women's dignity and rights in the light of the WCC. It starts with the biblical testimony on the dignity of women analyzed in the documents of the Council and the statements of theologians and ecumenical activists. The theological implications of the doctrine on the equal dignity of men and women, as well as the consequences of this doctrine in the structure and organization of the Council and the Member Churches and in their doctrine and ecclesiastical practice, are discussed next. The third chapter addresses the issue of defending and promoting the dignity and rights of women in the socio-economic field. The research starts with the WCC ecumenical analysis of the socioeconomic situation of women in the modern world, together with Council programs responding to discrimination. The main social and economic issues then are examined.
