Polskie ogrody rezydencjonalne XVIII wieku w świetle materiałów źródłowych. Rośliny i kompozycje

Abstract
XVIII w. Wszystkie trzy zasadnicze typy tj. ogrody barokowe, rokokowe i krajobrazowe współistniały do końca stulecia.
The gardens which have been created over the centuries were an important element of the material culture. The development of garden art was associated primarily with the life of the elite. 18th century gardens did not survive to their present day in their original form, and many of them were transformed also during the 18th century. The aim of the dissertation was to recreated the composition and selection of plants of 18th century residential gardens based on the analysis of source materials: descriptions, inventories, poetic art, cartographic and iconographic materials. A comparative analysis of Polish and foreign theoretical considerations as well as the executed gardens was made. The philosophical and artistic context has been taken into account. The source materials were analyzed in terms of the plant species composition of the eighteenth-century gardens. A large convergence of species selection used in Polish and foreign gardens (with similar climatic conditions) has been observed. A particular development of garden art in Poland took place in the 18th century, when, apart from baroque forms, rococo and later landscape creations appeared. Trends were distinguished based on Italian renaissance and baroque designs. From the end of the 17th century also inspired by the French school, with strongly marked symmetry and axiality, as well as an entre court et jardin layout. The development of regular gardens occurred the Saxon era. The development of landscape gardens has been observed since the 1770s. All three basic types: baroque, rococo and landscape gardens, coexisted until the end of the century.
